They are actually as close to an sec team as you will see. I actually think they match up pretty well.

I just addressed this in another thread...

I say they do better than most on this board expect. They are a solid and capable offensive team, though not flashy. They have a very good defense (number 1 scoring defense in the country last week) that will keep them in the game and prevent a blowout IMO.

So did FSU, but UF ran for over 200 yards on that #1 ranked overall D, #1 ranked rush D today.

Still say ND gets stomped.

they will be slower no matter if it's the Dawgs or Tide.

I just don't see them holding up against either. I think Bama would simply beat them down (provided they don't throw on a short yardage situation at the goal ).

Georgia is too fast for them.

It will be lopsided either way.

ND's offense has been inconsistent all year. Their D has to carry them and get a few turnovers. They have a Redshirt Starting QB.

Their defense will keep Bama and UGA's offense in check. I just have questions about their offense doing anything against the Bama and UGA defense.

Yeah, but FSU is a joke. They played 1 team ranked in the top 50 in the country. Only one team all year until today that had at least 6 wins. Out of 124 teams in college football, FSU had played the 2nd weakest schedule of all 124 teams. It is unreal how bad their schedule has been.

ND has faced 4 ranked teams with a decent SOS.

ND has a good defense.

They'd hang around for sure.

Poorly.

Against Bama or Georgia, they lose by double digits.

yeah, most seem to underrate teams with great defenses. They can win vs anyone with that defense but I don't think they'd be all that great in the SEC. But in one game, I think they can win vs anyone. They are a bit like UF though not quite as talented.

Good summary IMO. A great defense will almost always give you a shot by just keeping you in the game and keeping it close. Week in and week out, they need more offense. In 1 game, they have a shot.
