A top prospect could soon be in the mix for Tennessee after the school fired head coach Derek Dooley on Sunday.
ESPN 300 linebacker prospect E.J. Levenberry was never a prime target for the Vols after it hired defensive coordinator Sal Sunseri in January. Sunseri, who has long recruited the Washington, D.C., and Baltimore, Md., area, never made the ESPN 300 linebacker a priority, according to the Levenberry family. Depending on who Tennessee hires as its next coach, that could change. If so, the Levenberrys will listen.
"Only other school that he is interested in," Levenberry's father, Eric Levenberry, stated via text message.
Levenberry committed to Florida State in April over Tennessee, Oklahoma and Michigan. He had long professed interest in the Volunteers, whose previous assistant coaches recruited him heavily.
"He loves the fans," Eric Levenberry. "He loved the game day atmosphere more than any other school. Only other school he would take an official visit to."
In 11 games, Levenberry has recorded 140 tackles. He also has 107 solo tackles, 26 tackles for loss, 11 pass deflections, 22 quarterback hurries and an interception this season.
#35 player in the nation interested in the VOLS now, just because Dooley/Sal are gone.
Looks like Tennessee is the team to beat as well as long as the next staff gets him on campus.
What a frickup Dooley was, unbelievable.

Dude.....
This is not a benefit. Kid is overrated AF and everyone knows it. He also brings a ton of baggage. To each his own though.

He really doesnt want to go to FSU. He tried to flip to Michigan and the coaches told him no thanks.

Sal recruited many of the current LBs at Alabama. He knows what a SEC LB looks like. So don't blame him for passing, or for having to coach a roster of players that didn't fit his scheme.

We currently have a LB committed that does not even start on his HS team.

Just curious, what's going to happen if/when y'all don't get Gruden?

Probably won't effect this kid. Seems like he wants to go to UT regardless. I dunno. Like someone said earlier, at least this guy is an actual starter.
