As some of you are aware I am friends with Skyler who is head of Business Development for the Dodgers (reference the G4 photos) and he introduced me to a senior level executive of ESPN Wednesday night at the Clippers game...

We got to talking shop and drinking scotch before to long we were onto Arkansas football and the SEC... We'll lets just say the SEC has a major announcement in the coming months. (My shots worked), ha.

But more importantly he asked me, "Who is Arkansas going to hire".. I immediately said this is a total test to see if I even knew a damn thing about what I was talking about.. Well we threw names around and we got to Gundy and Patterson.. Then I said we have a road block because of one word.. "Oil" He smiled and said lets get another drink..

This leads me to believe we will just give Gundy a $1M raise at OSU and Patterson a raise at TCU. However, it is a small world because this executive also knew Dennis Kirkpatrick who is a very close family friend of mine and is the current director of Razorvision at Arkansas not to mention he was originally one of the first ESPN anchors many many years ago.

With all of this said I have no idea who we will hire and it possibly could be one of those two guys but these guys knew exactly what the frick they were talking about. However, I work in contracts daily therefore things can change in one hour yet those are real hurtles to climb over but not impossible with the current staff we have in place. Everyone at ESPN has a lot of respect for our current administration and loves the SEC.

I just enjoy the process living out-of-state but do not fret gents I think we are in solid hands.

Friend plays for the team therefore I got free box seats. Heck of a game watching them pound Miami.

You can give me clippers tickets all day and I'm game. They are young and fun to watch.

SEC's own network/channel, like the PAC/B1G.

Wasn't a matter of IF but WHEN.

We'll also probably see the SEC pick up another two teams by the 2015 season.

He'd be an idiot to leave Washington IMO.

Recruiting his arse off, and major renovations to that stadium. Washington will win the PAC soon.

Gundy and Patterson don't seem as such a lock as many here think. I tend to agree with a potential oil blockade unless Gundy or Patterson truly want to coach in the SEC.

Who has a better resume on the Hill working in production? I don't care about him being nice or cool. I want production value and it has certainly increased since he got there.

After all that.. no thoughts on the coach?

I am sharing a personal story that relates to our head coaching position and the SEC in general. I found the take interesting from a top ESPN executive saying not that we couldn't hire a good coach but Oil men will most likely stop us from Gundy and Patterson if they desired. It is hard to disagree with his assessment when Gundy or Patterson is all over the internet; Rivals.com to MrSec.com.

I am sorry you don't like stories. I'll continue to tell them anyway yet I am still waiting on one from you? I am going to try so hard to work on my internet fantasy reputation, wait, no I am not.

Still have no take on the head coaching position?
