I thought GD said it at some point during the broadcast, but it may have been in the post-game stuff.
I'm positive the quote was said though.

I'll look the DVR later.
Regardless, I can see how this is true. It's lonely at the top. I would imagine Nick is under more pressure now than ever.
That being said, he's the best coach in college football right now. I don't think there's any debate to that.

Jack - don't be lazy.
Coaching in Nick Saban's DNA
Coaching in Nick Saban's DNA
quote:
"It's a lot more fun when you're sort of building than when you're just trying to keep it that way," Saban said. "It's a lot more fun when you're just starting out. They don't have that expectation, so you're kind of exceeding expectations with every win. It's a lot more fun, but you can't focus on that and get your players to play the best they can and get them to understand that they control the way they play. They don't control the rest of it. So let's focus on what we control."

quote:Obviously, Nick Saban is either A) letting Bama lose a game so he can "build" the program back up (gumptard logic), or B) is bored with Bama and will run to the next available program to build it up because he's just that kinda guy. Saban to Texas, Dallas, etc. (rantard/everyone else logic).
Discuss.

And your point is?

At no point did I say he would run off to another program or the NFL, I just found that quote pretty intriguing.

Makes sense. Certainly less pressure involved. In one situation you are winning games and exceeding expectations. In the other situation you are winning games and people just say - so, you were supposed to win and when you have the occassional loss people (your fan's and other team's fans) lose their freaking minds.
With that said, this current Bama run is all fun to me. Building it, maintaining it, whatever. Alabama is averaging like 12 wins a year over the past 5 years. It's hard to complain.

So does this mean Saban is going to Tennessee or Auburn?
