I'm too young to remember Tarkington. I remember Staubach, although his last season, I was in 2nd grade. What I remember about Staubach is that he was *never* down until this whistle blew. I don't know that he was particularly fast... just a tough SOB who played in an era of absolutely vicious football.

Yea, even as an A&M homer I agree. Brees has a much, much better arm and is insanely accurate.
Manziel has an adequate college arm, but it's far from special.

I only read the OP. anybody mention that Sunlin coached Brees at Purdue?
