Unfortunately, we probably won't get that...we will be forced to watch a boring Kansas State team battle it out...who have they really played this year?

Again, I will stand by my idea that the playoffs should include 8 teams, and the champions from the five major conferences should get automatic bids. This will take college football to new heights and spread the interest geographically. Having three extra spots for at-large teams will reward the No. 2 teams in some of the conferences, and give independents like Notre Dame and schools from the smaller conferences a chance.

No more than 8 teams...8 teams means just three weekends of games...anything beyond that creates issues with logistics, fan travel, etc.

Automatic bids for conference champions is the only way to go. It will help reduce the bias that has plagued the sport since champions were first decided by sportswriters. Granted, you will never eliminate the bias since a similar poll to the BCS will be needed to determine seeding and the at-large teams, but it won't be used for the bulk of the teams.

This must happen soon...it has become painful to watch how each season unfolds. It is unfair to the players, coaches and fans of teams that have legit arguments for their team to be considered for the title game.

I agree that it would be a lot more fun to watch and fair, but these kids are trying to get paid. Ask Marcus Lattimore how many extra games he would like to play.

I think there'd be seasons like this one, where 3 or 4 teams from a conference would be more deserving than a conference champ. The ACC has had 4 loss teams as a conference champ before. I'd just prefer the top 4 teams play it out. First round, 2 weeks after the conference championship games. Then the Championship game 2 weeks after that.

That is one case out of thousands. Cone on. 8 teams with champions means no more bitching because everyone is represented. I like it.

I don't really want to ever see it at more than four, personally. I can't wait to see our bowl record this year.

I like it too, but good luck. All these busy bodies in the NCAA will say it is unfair for the athlete to play more games, unsafe, and takes away from education etc etc etc

That wouldn't bother me...The New York Giants won the Super Bowl last season with 7 losses. Every other sport in the world has champions will multiple losses...

I agree.

Top 4, keep the BCS to rank them, keep the bowl system, and allow 2 weeks for championship game preparation for the teams and fans alike.

Which is why I hate playoffs. It would be tragic, imo, for a 4 loss ACC team to be playing for a NC and an Lsu or Bama with 2 losses against top 5 teams sit home. Conf champs doesn't take into account the weakness of schedules. I like top 4 BCS teams. If you're not at least 4, why do you even deserve a shot? You're likely going to have at least 2-3losses starting at #5.

on the other hand, in college football the regular season means something...the four team playoff I think does the best job of preserving that at this point...lets see what happens with that and move on from there...

How would that be tragic? Football national champions at every level besides FBS is decided with a playoff.

Isn't that one of the things that makes the college game special though? The fact that every game in the regular season actually means something?

There's a decent chance of a 6-6 GT team making the ACCCG this year, if they upset FSU you'd have a 7-6 ACC team in the playoff. No way they would deserve a bid...

Most other sports have smaller team pools and more even play. With 120 teams, it's impossible for similar schedules to be played and the inequity of that is evident. Holding an SEC team to the same standard of teams in the ACC or other weak conferences is a punishment and more unfair than what we have now, imo.

If ND gets left out because 3 teams go undefeated, ask that team if they'd like to play extra games to determine the champion or if they feel it's okay to be undefeated and not get to play for anything.

I either like this or a top 6 ranked by the BCS. Reward the top 2 teams with a bye week in the first round.
