Question For aTm Fans re: BIG XII

A lot of people seem to be questioning the strength of the SEC because of the success aTm is having in their inaugural year. Do you think that:
A. The SEC is overhyped
or
B. That you would be undefeated and on your way to the BCSCG if you were playing in the BIG XII.

We're just a lot better than we were last year.
We'd easily beat everyone not named KSU in the Big XII this year.

With that offensive line and Manziel, they would've fricking destroyed the entire Big 12
Except KState. That'd be a good game

C: LSU and Bama just aren't that good.

Neither. We have a better coach than anyone in the big 12 save Bob Stoops. I think our lack of depth in the secondary would cause games to be a lot closer than some of our wins. SEC is pretty dominant in bowl games, which sort of squelches any notion of the Bevo 10 being better. This year I'd put A&M, LSU, and Bama up against anyone in that league.

If we played some of the better offenses in the Big 12 early, we might have lost a shootout. But right now, I think we hammer them all.

This, but I wouldn't wish being in the Big XII on my worst enemy.

Everytime I get ready to bash UGA fan for a dumb comment it occurs to me that they're trolling me. Surely. They. Are.
Trolling.
Please don't tell me they believe their team could place higher than 4th in the west.

I think that we are just a better team. Prime testament of how things can turn for the better when you have a change of attitude in your program. When you have a good coaching staff that gets it and you have all the right pieces and play makers to support your dynamic freshman QB.
Big 12 fans for some reason believe that this Aggie win means that the SEC is overrated, or that the defense is overhyped. The SEC is not used to seeing this type of offense. They are not used to seeing this kind of player in Manziel. They will try to convince you that the Big 12 is better than the SEC. Six teams in the top 10 enough said. Even worse, I've heard people claiming that the Aggie win is a victory for the Big 12, because it proved that a mediocre Big 12 team LAST YEAR beat mighty Bama with their Big 12 offense. No one should listen to this stupid shite. It just does not make sense.
The matter of the fact is that the SEC is still king and we are the best conference. People don't hurry to their tv's to watch fricking KSU or Oregon play. The SEC brand is national, not regional.

B.
I would hope that most of the fan base knows that the quality of play in the SEC is superior to the Big dumpster fire conference. Its pretty obvious to me.
It pisses me off that the big 12 is claiming us and using our performance to strengthen their argument.
We were mediocre in the big 12 but it wasnt because of a lack of talent. We were ranked #8 in the country last year preseason they just collapsed in every game and we went 7-6. Heck, we lost a top 10 pick at QB.
The new coaching staff has brought a lot of confidence and they are getting the most out of the talent. Something the previous 2 staffs didnt do.

given our resources and fan base, a lot of aggies felt we were the most underachieving program in the country. Now we are just achieving

this wasnt a terrible team in the first place, we probably would have gone 11-1 last year if it werent for the coaching staff. we blew 5 half time leads that were by more than a TD, 4 of them were double digit leads. and we had multiple big time players return. so its not like this was a 4-8 team from the fran years

Not trying to hijack the thread, but why are Big Bevo conference fans claiming TAMU? They don't even schedule TAMU at all and they said that the frogs and the hillbillies were an upgrade?

they think that us playing well in the SEC proves that the SEC was overrated and the big 12 was underrated.
Their argument is that we were mediocre there and exceptional here so it must be that the SEC sucks

I honestly don't think the makeup of this team is that much better than last year. We had a pretty salty roster last year.
Difference is night and day in attitude and having a killer instinct. It has spread from the coaching staff on down. Obviously as a fan you wish we could have put UF and LSU away, but those games were night and day compared to the collapses last year.
SEC is a much tougher conference and I really think we could have gone undefeated in the BigXII - would have had KSU and OU both at home. Only concern is that our most glaring weakness is in pass coverage, which wouldn't play well in the BigXII.

Yup, they cannot comprehend that this is what happens when you have good coaches and players that buy in. Like West Coast Ag said, this team could have won 11 games and contended for the NC last year. Hell we started ranked 8 I believe. We had a top 10 NFL QB. The only difference is attitude. Last year this team took the attitude of their vanilla, lame coach. There was no swagger and they shat their pants when things went south.
Last year's team goes easy on opponents when they were blowing them out. This year's team keeps their foot on the pedal. We expect to score on every play, no matter if the 2nd or 3rd string players are in. Change of attitude is huge and this whole coaching staff can really relate to our players. They know what it takes to recruit. They know how to play the game.

This is how I looked at it.
TAMU 2011 7-6
Mizzou 2011 8-5
Tamu adjusted and knew that this was their opportunity to get in fresh blood with fresh recruits in a new and shinier conference. No longer just an extension of Texas Longhorn little bros.
When people think of Texas, they only think of Longhorns the rest are just Longhorns subsidiary schools.
With such an opportunity they capitalized on it and it re-invigorated their entire fan base +recruiting base. It also make coaches want to try a fresh hand at a new Texas-Free conference.
So they came at the SEC like a final exam. They prepared and study hard knowing that how they do in their inaugural season will dictated how they will be perceived.
Mizzou was better then A&M last year but look at how they came at the SEC this year. They thought they could use the same strategy in the big 12 and didn't think that everyone in the conference would be tough.
TAMU make commercials about how tough the SEC was and how they were prepare for the dogfight.
Mizzou felt if they play their same style of ball they will destroy everyone playing old man football.
Look at the two now. TAMU came ready to play while Mizzou after being stood up in games after games are trying to put themselves together.
I am not sure if TAMU would do as well in the Big 12 because it would be the same ole shite to them again. This year they play someone new every single game and they treated it as such.
Hats off to TAmu.

Big 12 Fans are trying to claim A&M yet they're neglecting to also claim Missouri as one of their own. Strange.
