A Meaningless SECCG?

I wonder how deflated the teams will play if it turns out to be meaningless on the national stage.
The SECCG kicks off on Dec 1 at 3 eastern, while ND will have finished their season the week before(Assuming a win) and Oregon will have won the Pac-12 CG game the night before.
Its been so long since the SECCG was being played for a trip to the Sugar Bowl and nothing else.

I you can't get excited for playing for an SEC title, you don't need to be playing.

Winner going to BCS title after KSU loses to Texas and ND gets crushed by USC.
Oregon in trouble.
Oregon in trouble.

Maybe if those same teams are undefeated by the time the SECCG then you can make this thread...until then there's something to play for.

First of all, it's at 4 EST but whatevs.
UGA will be playing in front of a home crowd wanting revenge for 2008 and their first SEC title since 05, which will tie them for 2nd most SEC titles of all time.
Bama will be playing to try to get their 2nd SEC title under Saban, and their 2nd in the last 13 years. The SECC is always a big deal.

This. Bama has exactly 1 SEC championship ring in over a decade. If they don't want it, I am sure UGA will be happy to take it, but I don't see bama not being motivated regardless of the national scene.

Trust me, it's ALWAYS a home game for Bama in Atlanta. Their fans just completely take over. 94, 96, 99, 08, 09, didn't matter.

I think its healthy for the league and its fans to have the SECCG be just an SECCG for a change.
The last 6 years have skewed the expectations of all of the major players in the conference. It would be a good thing to go back to having all teams say "we're playing to win the SEC, and we'll let the chips fall where they may after that."

#23 Baby! Bring it on. Dogs gonna get their arse kicked.
If we don't get a shot at the ND we got what we deserved but all Bama fans will be happy with another SECC (#23). 16 teams in the toughest conference in the country and we are the best (assuming a win of course). That's pretty damn good.

numbnuts,
You do realize that Notre Dame plays at USC? - University of Southern California in the last regular season game for them.
Kind of ironic that you tell anyone to "learn to read".
Reach in, grab each ear with each hand, and pull head out of arse.
