It's early and UK fans should just be happy that this game plays no role in making the top 64.

Actually it'll have a big role in terms of a very valuable experience to build from.

I was speaking in terms of wins and losses, actually.

But I see what you're trying to say.

WTF does this have to do with anything. I know guys that played at a much higher level than you did that are fricking retarded in terms of schemes. They were just better than everyone and it caught up. I don't know how you can say we got out played by the #9 team in the country without a PG and lost by 7. Hell, if Curry gave half of the effort he did, Duke would have lost. Missing a PG is like missing a QB. You think the Steelers are anywhere near as good with Leftwich starting? Now imagine pulling Mike Wallace over to play QB. That's what we did. Goodwin is our 2. I thought Duke would blow us off the court.

I just can't do that anymore. I guess I'm getting old. The only time I react is when somebody crams a dunk all over some loafie center.

I'm 31. You can't be that old.

I will or will not own up to a cup of crushed ice being tossed across the room during a particular Hoosier game last season.

Wow, you're ridiculous. Being outplayed can and usually does have something to do with missing players.

You lost because TONIGHT, Duke was better. And no matter what you've told yourself, being there plays a role. You learn from experience.

Curry played well, and he plays for Duke. Therefore no matter who UK had missing, due to Curry, Duke outplayed UK tonight.

Go to bed.

Eta: UK will be much improved down the road. Don't get so upset at me for a simple comment in November.

I'm older than you, barely. I have calmed down a lot over the last couple of years.

Yeah, I'm not throwing anything. I was pissed at that.

Yes, they were. They won.

We'll see how everything unfolds come February/March.

I figured they would lose, one of the downfalls of having a new but talented lineup each year. It will probably take this one a little longer to put the pieces together.

UK lost and Duke won the scoreboard tells us this and that is not up for debate. While I understand UK was playing without a primary player the game I watched was not unwinnable as some on here have suggested. I think a few things UK could and should have done better would have put this in the win column even being a man down.

This team is young and is still playing as individuals against a team who was not. While it can lead to exciting individual plays it also allows the other team to take advantage of this. UK did not threaten the passing lanes and they did not defend the 3 which is where Dukes winning points came from. More importantly when the game was getting close at the end they squandered some possession time and failed to hit some key free throws which seemed to stop the run.

While I did not predict an easy win over Duke I certainly saw a team without a player that had the the ability to take the win last night. UK will get better and it will play at full strength in the future but to think they could not have won that game last night seems unacceptable. Plumlee, Curry, and Thornton combined to made 12 FT's on 12 attempts and that kind of free points at the charity stripe usually translates to wins in close games. Having 5 fewer turnovers usually hurts as well. These are things that create defeat when the win is possible.
