And seriously, not a flame....
Something to the affect that watching Saban defend his team and how losing affects him....
It's like they are relieved to win games and go "whew" when it happens....
And when it's a loss, it's almost back-breaking......and there is no joy in winning.
Do Bama fans agree with this? Is it hard to enjoy the success because it's so much pressure to win?
I will say that it definitely happens at LSU with the fans.....and I'm guilty of it.

This is why the Florida game was so frustrating and the USC and Bama games were so much fun for LSU fans.
Florida was an expected win, and after that game, many LSU fans thought USC and Bama were expected losses. Game atmospheres are VERY different in the two situations. If Bama were and underdog yesterday, the crowd wills them to a win, IMO.

I said it already. The pressure is self imposed. We aren't on the team for losing any more than we were on them last year or 2010. There wasn't even any hate/pressure after AU 2010.
Saban wants to win. His team follows. This isn't the same fanbase that supposedly threw a brick through Curry's window.

Saban's forehead vein takes losses worse than anybody.

Holtz makes my head hurt. Wait until ND loses and watch the excuses. Nothing he says has merit since he is such a homer to ND and USCe.
Ridiculous to say the players don't enjoy wins.

I agree here......he doen't make sense 99% of the time. I was just wondering if Bama fans feel this with Saban.
It's almost like winning is expected and doesn't allow enjoyment. The only exception to this is seeing him smile after 1/9.

They looked pretty happy to me in Tiger Stadium.

You watch how many of those players were almost relieved.......overcome actually with emotion.
The happy ones were mostly bench guys
Pressure to win takes a toll on these kids and coaches IMO.

The 2009 season for UF was a torture test. Never would I have believed a 12-0 season would be so full of anguish from fans. Every single game fans were not not happy that we didnt score 40 points and get 475 yds of offense. Success from 2008 and winning it all took its toll...leading up to the SECCG that Bama got revenge for....coach sick/not sick etc etc. Maybe Bama has been going through that....perfection is its own worse enemy at times and fans can be irrational. Its the "what have you done for me lately" syndrome.

I totally agree with your point about underdog home crowds being MUCH MUCH better than when you're favored. Having said that, the Bama crowd did their part. Yesterday's atmosphere in BDS was the loudest since the 2010 Iron Bowl and was considerably louder than last year's LSU game. There were a few loud moments on Nov 5th, 2011 but the crowd seemed louder by a good bit yesterday.
