Our guards all look good. Cooper, Releford, and Lacey are all probably going to average double figures this year. They seem to be meshing as a team too.

Moussa, Carl, and Jacobs are giving us absolutely nothing though. Moussa kind of strikes me as a big guy who really can't do much besides be big. Carl is athletic but he can't do anything with a basketball. Jacobs is pretty much useless for anything other than back to the basket offense.

Lacey with 23 points tonight,5 for 5 from 3,god i hope he keeps that up,we need a legit 3 point threat.

Pretty good game tonight. We've gotta learn to dribble before making a move to the basket. I hate seeing Jacobs get so few minutes but when he's in the game, his man scores so there's a reason he's not on the floor very much right now. I think when we play teams with a couple good post players, he'll begin getting a lot of minutes. I'm glad to see Lacey and Cooper shoot so much. I hope that continues.

Oregon State plays at 8:30 on ESPNU for anyone that wants to scout what we'll be facing.

In this video it seems like Grant gets asked if Nick's still suffering from an injury. Is that what y'all hear as well? I didn't even know he had any sort of injury LINK

I was just alerted to this. I had no idea he was hurt. Hopefully he gets back to 100% soon.

Had it even been mentioned until now? Grant said he wasn't even sure he'd play against South Dakota State

Not that I am aware of. Does Oregon State have a decent front court? I hope not.

I posted this on bamamag during their game so far:

So far through 10 minutes, Oregon State seems to be as weak rebounding the ball as we are. They also haven't hit many shots yet. They have good size, but I haven't seen a guy I'd really call a banger down low.

I take back my previous statement. Oregon State's #11 is a banger. He doesn't look that coordinated but he's a large fella down low.

We better control Starks. That guy has 19 in the first half for Oregon State. He's 5'9.

They have one 6'10 white guy who likes to shoot the 3 and hang on the perimeter. Reminds me of Murphy from Florida.

Sounds like I will be yelling a lot during that game. This is my least favorite type of player in basketball. I would have a heart attack watching a Euro game.

We hate them because we've never had one

Oregon State doesn't apply full court pressure. They are known for being a bad defensive team and trying to outscore people.

How did Retin look? I noticed he fouled out in 11 minutes, which I've gotta say is fricking impressive for a guard.

An incredibly athletic and spastic ball of energy. I think he's going to be really good for us one day.

Retin will be a good player for us if he ever learns how to play under control. He's raw, but there is a lot of upside there.

Didn't Oregon State win like 6 games last year?

They went 21-15 and 7-11 in their conference.

They had a winning record and made that CBI tournament. Losing record in the Pac-10 though.

And Bird said on another site that they lost their best player from that team. That 5'9 kid they have, Starks, is extremely streaky. I think he scored 30 last night. Releford and Lacey will have to do a great job guarding him and not letting him get hot from deep. I would assume Pollard will guard the 6'10 white guy that shoots 3s. None of our other big men need to be around the perimeter IMO.

I don't think we play any cupcakes aside from last night. Grant does a good job with OOC scheduling. We play a lot of teams that we are capable of beating, but only if we play well.

I love that about him, reminds me of what Pearl did at UT,it gets the team ready for conference play as well.
