The guy runs an offense that reminds me of the Mallet days. He can recruit that area like you wouldn't believe. The man knows what it is like to win and I'm convinced this guy could get it done. It all depends on how much money y'all would throw his way.

He's an OSU graduate. He was a star QB there. He is bankrolled by T. Boone Pickens. Not that Arkansas has bad facilities (the opposite is true - they're great) but so does OSU now that they have T. Boone money. Not that Arkansas doesn't have money to pay a fat salary (Walmart money in abundance), but so does OSU with T. Boone money. Arkansas' only advantage is being a slightly more high profile school, but y'all arent NEARLY as high profile as you believe. I could see Gundy entertaining a USC, tOSU, Texas or Alabama offer... but leave Mama for Arkansas? Doubtful when OSU can match y'all $ for $.

Plus, he is a man!

Seriously though, we could do a hell of a lot worse.

He has a much easier road to the BCS where he is currently at. Plus it is "home" for him. I don't even think he would leave for one of the "Big time" gigs let alone for Arkansas.

FWIW, T. Boone's money or donation isnt all that valuable as when he pledged it

I would be happy with the hire. I understand the folks thinking that it is unlikely that we could steal Gundy from OSU or Patterson from the TCU, but there is some smoke that they both might be looking around. If they're looking, I like our chances and would like either hire.

Word on the street is that Gundy and T Boone aren't too fond of each other.

Aggie talking like he knows something again. There's been friction w/ the AD. Holder is a puppet and quite the dickwad. I was able to get Gundy to agree to help me with a fundraiser while I was in Stilly. All I needed was Holder to sign off on it and the fricker wouldn't even take a phone call and his fat secretary screened everything else. Now mind you President Hargis met with me, the board of regents met with me, and all the marketing people met with me.

Holder runs the AD on an island and there is a ton of backlash from fans. T Boone has cost OSU nearly as much as he donated to them with his hedge fund follies and he reneged on a major portion of the gift as well as sucking 30% of the endowment down the drain. OSU is not on as firm financially footing as people may think.

If we could get him he'd win a title maybe 2 at Arkansas. He's everything you want in a coach, plus he'd bring Trooper on staff and we'd burn up the recruiting trail

We're not as high profile as some of our fans want to believe. At least I admit it. In fact most of us admit that we're not a Premier coaching destination, which I would limit to Texas, OU Florida, Alabama, Georgia, USCw, tOSU, Michigan, ND, and possibly the artist formerly known as Nebraska. The problem with Arkansas is most of y'all are blind to not being in that group.

Wayyy more likely than Gundy to Arkansas. I like Gundy, I think he's vastly underrated by the average fan. I want to see what he can do with real talent at his disposal. Arkansas essentially has OSU talent. Lateral move.

Yeah, there's no way Gundy's going to leave his alma mater for an Arkansas-type job. Even Bama or Texas would have a hard time landing him. He's not going anywhere.

Would be their best hire, IMO.
