When? Geno Smith had 400 and lost by 20.
Agree. Recruiting is 90% of the game.
Les is very good at it.

NFL Facts
LA has more athletes per capita in the NFL than any other state.

Secondly, on the LA ranks only second to California on NFL QBs to win SB. In fact they may be ahead as I have not checked in a while.
Trivia - the only Texas born QB to ever win a SB? He did it in La for a La owned team.
WVU played them.... LAST YEAR.

the other stuff is all either irrelevant to this conversation, or just dumb in general.

Nevermind that Johnny has improved quite a bit over the last few months. His HS instinct to run on ever play has slowly faded.. He is starting to learn the offense. The coaches are letting him make audibles at the line a bit.

Not saying it will be enough to beat bama, but to think he hasn't improved since the florida/LSU game is shortsighted.

DWAG, I agree with you. In that offensive system familiarity and time greatly improves its implementation. When Sonny Dykes came to LATECH with his similar offense it did not look good the first year (remember AlBarn running Franklin off after a few games when he tried to implement it there). The 2nd year was a little better. However, from year 2 - 3 the improvement was amazing. Give those stud athletes of yours a couple of years to fully work into the system and you guys will be blowing and going. The major positive you also have is that you can recruit stud defensive players to compliment that offense. That is hard for a school like TECH to do. As someone else mentioned, ball control does not matter if you score everytime you get the ball. I look for great things out of aTm in the next few years.

And A&M had the TOP against LSU. I told a buddy before the game if A&M won the TOP that we likely lost because it means our offense wasn't as explosive as it needed to be

Yawn. Doing this kind of analysis with the LSU offense would give you the impression that A&M's defense is better than Alabama's which I think anyone would admit is clearly false.

The better team did not win on Saturday. Lsu has stunk it up so far this year due to injuries. Last year LSU was the better team overall going into both of those games. The second game should not have been against Bama fwiw. You shouldn't get redos and college football.
Lsu has been the better program the last eight years.

TAMU should just copy all those other spread teams that went 4 wide and ran up the middle on SEC defenses...

There's a reason that plan doesn't work. You can't get to the edge and you don't have the beef to run it between the tackles. Nothing like a hurry up offense going 3-out in 45 seconds and giving Bama back to back 6 minute drives in the first first half.
