...would it just make sense to keep Chiz et al for another year? That way we don't half arse the coach selection this year? And just give them both more rope to hang themselves next year? Then clean house with a new AD for 2014?

I will punch a kitten.

But if Jacobs stays and we fire Chiz, we will hire Chiz 2.0

what's with the sudden upsurge in rumors about Jacobs staying? I have seen that as the top topic today but where did that come from?

To me, yes. I don't want JJ making the next hire.

I think that article is a good thing. Personally I hope this whole "Save JJ" campaign blows up in a lot of people's faces. These clowns are seriously underestimating the backlash from fans if Jacobs and Chiz are retained.. McWhorter can throw out all of the swimming and diving and equestrian trophies he wants, but the only sport that matters is football, and it has crashed and burned. All that remains is to identify the victims.

I don't see it as a good thing. That stupid old frick Mcwhorter shows JJ has powerful support and AU is still the clusterfrick it's always been.

It's a good thing in a sense that it's now out in the open this arrogant attempt to save JJ's job with a media campaign. The 3 major programs at AU have very inconsistent for a while now, and the best argument for keeping Jacobs is how well the non revenue sports are doing?? McWhorter is out of touch.

Talked with someone who know Jay Jacobs and he is out already.

They had dinner and Jacobs was talking about new coaches that have been in contact and come to AU in the past few weeks and he just didn't even care. He is a lame duck and he isn't being removed till the end of the season. Could tell he was heartbroken as AU has been his career and passion. (Sad story but still, no JJ so I'm okay)

Paul Spina Sr. on the BOT and a big donor publicly supported Tubs and we know how it turned out. McWhorter isn't even on BOT anymore. He isn't going to get anything accomplished because it is his friend they are firing
