And FYI on those who are curious (and questioned why he wouldn't resign):

quote:

darren rovell ?@darrenrovell Kentucky’s buyout of Joker Phillips will cost the school $2.55 million over two years. That’s $3,493 a day NOT to coach.

Can UK honestly do better? I mean maybe they're jealous that Vandy is better now and they're the clear bottom dweller, but I don't think a new coach will help.

We did better under Brooks. Quite a bit better.

And while I'm not a big Matt Jones fan:

Matt Jones ?@KySportsRadio The two non-"big names" that will certainly get calls from UK are David Cutcliffe and Sonny Dykes. Beyond that remains to be seen

UK has the kind of BB money that Alabama has FB money. Spread the wealth and make a Big Boy offer to show you want Big Boy football. I think that you can get any of those coaches. M. Stoops would be a killer hire. UK has better recruiting options than Ariz. ever had or hopes to have. I am rooting for this option.

I think it will be either Mike Bellotti or Fulmer and he brings Chavis with him, and keeps Sanders.

Keep y'alls dirty dickbeaters away from Chavis. I will burn your Univ. to the ground.

I'm intrigued by the hub bub that he could bring Zook with him as a DC. I'm not crazy about Fulmer, but maybe as someone who spent quite a bit of time in the SEC he can light a fire under some asses for support of the program?

Umm, I am gonna say no on that!

CFB revenue at UK is still double that of UK basketball and Bama money dwarfs UK money by 40 - 50 million dollars a year!

UK is also going to honor the remainder of Phillip's contract (2 years):

quote:

Kyle Tucker ?@KyleTucker_CJ Phillips will be paid for the remainder of his contract. Making $1.7 million a year, had two years left.

He had a good record in 3 seasons at Boise in the late 90's, but was pretty pedestrian at Arizona State. Not sure what to think, although his profile is high right now with Atlanta.

He struggled in the PAC with ASU so why would he succeed at UK in the SEC?

2001 Arizona State 4–7
2002 Arizona State 8–6
2003 Arizona State 5–7
2004 Arizona State 9–3
2005 Arizona State 7–5
2006 Arizona State 7–6

That has 5 wins or less in the SEC written all over it!

I feel like this Was UKs Franchione stage. Phillips had some good wins but for the most part lost games he shouldn't have and had some pretty embarrassing moments. You'll get a good team builder for few years and then someone that can utilize those talents....

Or you'll just continue sucking as always.

I hope Barnhart has an ace up his sleeve. If you fire Joker you'd better have someone in mind, and he usually doesn't.
