VQ on Joejuan Williams
quote:
If Nashville athlete Joejuan Williams indeed ends up at Tennessee as planned this weekend that will be big as he hasn't visited since he made it to Tennessee's campus in August. Williams is currently high on the Vols, Ohio State and Auburn, with several others like LSU still in the mix.
Don't look for any early decision, but expect Tennessee to be a factor as long as this one goes. The Vols were one of the first offers for Williams and have been on him hard ever since.

Donaven Tennyson
VQ

But, of those expected in it may be worth keeping an eye on Virginia wide receiver Donaven Tennyson. He told us earlier this week his timeline is to do something within the next few weeks and wouldn't rule out doing something very soon.
He'll be visiting Virginia Tech on Friday before making his way to Knoxville for Saturday's junior day. Tennyson seems high on the Vols and Tennessee likes his speed in the slot and he's someone Zach Azzanni has put some real effort into early on.
Tennyson represents what the Vols are looking to upgrade with its receiving corp with the 2016 class and that's speed. With Tennessee struggling in the vertical passing game this past season, which wasn't all about the receivers, the staff is looking for several players that can get behind teams. It's why guys like Tennyson and fellow speedster Mecole Hard are high on the Vols' receivers board.

Diondre Overton
VQ
quote:
The other big-time receiver that's scheduled to be in besides Tennyson and Hardman is North Carolina receiver Diondre Overton.
Overton currently lists Clemson as his leader but Tennessee has been interested in him for some time now and getting him on campus is big. It's also worth remembering that Overton was first a basketball prospect before a receiver prospect and while his future is likely on the gridiron he would like the chance at basketball at his future landing spot.
Overton is just one of a handful of North Carolina prospects expected in town this weekend and that's a credit to the hard work of Mark Elder who has done a really good job in making the Vols a real factor in the Tar Heel State, especially the western part of the state.

Elijah Holyfield

Elijah Holyfield was planning on coming in this weekend put has pushed that back to the March 7 date as Tennessee remains a real contender there.

Kyle Davis
VQ

Another name to watch is current South Carolina commitment Kyle Davis, a big-bodied Rivals200 four-star in the 2016 class who has a strong relationship with Zach Azzanni and spoke with both Azzanni and Butch Jones this past week.

Tennessee is a real factor with Texas offensive lineman Kellen Diesch because his parents once lived in Knoxville and became Tennessee fans and still cheer for the Vols to the day. But, several Big 12 schools, most notably Oklahoma (where he visited last weekend) and Baylor, are pushing hard for Diesch.
Both the Sooners and the Bears are major contenders for Diesch and Tennessee will have a real opportunity to grab his attention this weekend and join that group. A decision isn't far off for Diesch, either, as he would like to have something decided before his spring football practice begins.

The odds appear to be improving that freshman running back Treyvon Paulk, dismissed last fall in connection with a domestic assault charge, will rejoin the Vols this spring. Sources say a return is likely, and head coach Butch Jones concedes that the possibility exists.

"We've given Devante Brooks a four-star grade (91). Obviously there is very limited junior film on Brooks but based on his size and frame and the camp clips at tight end from last summer, we think 91 is a good starting point. Anxious to see him as a senior."

I hope Kendall sticks
I'd be fine with Oden or Guarantano though.

Hardman can't make it in due to weather this weekend

Weather has been dick up here for a while. I wouldn't blame anyone for not making it in. More ice and snow on the way

Devin Cochran, a teammate of Tennessee cornerback signee Micah Abernathy, received his first offer from the Vols less than a month ago and added an offer from Vanderbilt just four days later. He's expected to be one of the top offensive linemen from the state of Georgia in the 2016 class.
The 6-foot-7, 300-pound Cochran said he "should be going" to Tennessee on Saturday "if the weather holds up."

Since he couldn't make it to Knox, he visited UGA and named them co-leaders.
