He was never a bad defensive coordinator (according to stats), but a terrible head coach...

He may have benefited from being the DC for a great squad of Auburn and Texas players, though.

No, I'd rather have Grantham.

Not if I were running an SEC school. Despite his success as a coordinator I think it will take some time to get back to the big leagues.

Tubbs seemed more handsoff at Auburn than he is now at Tech.

Also, Chizik went undefeated at Texas and based on the downward spiral of Mack Brown, I would say that is who he most closely resembles

frick no. Unless Kirby leaves, then I would defer to Nick Saban.

Nick Saban's teams seem to have great defenses even though he is the HC.

As a matter of fact, Chizik would be a better HC if Auburn was better on defense. No way he should get a DC job in the SEC

HELL NO!

Gene is a defensive coach, that's what he does, that's his expertise. It has not filtered onto the Auburn defensive unit in 4 freakin years.

Those players don't know how to tackle properly, they run bad angles, look lost, and have zero intensity when they are on the field. And, that shite didn't just start showing up this season either, it's been dismal for a while.

I wouldn't want Gene anywhere near my defensive players.

I fell certain CGC is a fine man, a great person and family man. But, he has lead a once respected Auburn program into the cellar of the SEC. That shite he's put on the field this year can't be overlooked.

I don't think Ears had anything to do with Texas beating USC.

Damn. Gene is so fortunate. Cam and Young. That is almost unfair.
