Offering to resign is basically admitting you've failed.
Since Chiz is still relatively young, I can't see him doing that. It would make it much harder to get another job.
Even though we all know if there were ever a case where a coach should offer to resign, this would qualify...

I should have said 2nd biggest difference.
DuBose was making < $500k at Bama. It cost them nothing to fire him.
The reason I make this comparison is that we had ample opportunity to learn from their mistakes.
Instead, we seem to double down on them.

Exactly! News flash: Chiz would be getting fired after a winless SEC campaign in his 4 th season wether Nick Saban was the coach at Alabama or not.
