Watching SEC football as a Big 12 fan over the years....were u pumped and in agreement when the statement was made about this conference playing "old man football"? Or did you cringe when that was said....And with such a large amount of egg on the face...does that come up on any sports talk shows or everyday conversation? forgive the 10 part question but just seems like after making a comment like that and pretty much getting taken to the woodshed this year their would be some serious ranting goin on. Just curious, Thx

1. Richardson was talking about UGA, not the SEC
2. Richardson is one of the best defensive players in the SEC
3. I love that he made that comment
4. I hate that Richardson is such a great player, but is stuck with such a pathetic offense. He will be in the NFL next year.

It was simply a college kid who has worked alot harder then most do to even get here having to go the JUCO route to get his grades right talking shite. Kids at all levels talk shite, it's nothing new it's nothing shocking.

It was stupid, and yet he made himself a target and put himself out there. Obviously noone was going to let sheldon get off easy after that comment, so doesn't that deserve a bit of respect in a weird way as well? Everyone wants to hit the kid every play and make him hurt after he opened his mouth.

Kid still is a beast though and pure SEC talent, unlike our coaches and some of our other players on our team.

It obviously does make it funny now in hindsight and a point to rag on since Missouri has been so atrocious. It's funny how much this has been talked about though and hit on like he was the first kid to ever open his mouth.

And to go a step further he was making a reference because of how they played against Buffalo their first game, he was watching them play and tweeted. I don't see how people take that as if he was talking about the whole SEC.

I mean he was making fun of our pro style offense and power run game....thats like 2/3 of the SEC...so I would have considered it and SEC shite talking even if it was against GA.

Don't let them bullshite you. Most of them thought the SEC defenses were overrated and their offense was going to pile up points. "SEC has no QB's", "SEC can't stop all our WR's", "SEC offenses don't scare me" ........... yadda yadda yadda.

very true...not the first guy to say something like that......just think there are levels of boldness and on a scale of 1-10 he definately hit a 35 of ballsiness lol dont get me wrong i absolutely loved it! It actually made me pay more attention to Missouri because i knew that instantly made the games just that much more interesting...hey sometimes comments get backed up completely...this one will definately go down as a pretty clasic backfire but as lifelong LSU and SEC fan i appreciate stuff like that. Thats what makes this conference as awesome as it is...not just the play on the field but the incredibly huge egos that go along with it

I guess I'm sorry for not coming in and saying we are going to get raped by all of you. No fan would do that. Of course we stuck up for out team. and fwiw I don't think anyone really thought SEC defenses were overrated. I can't really speak for others, but someone who follows cfb knew the sec was tougher competition. We've watched your boring arse, low scoring games.

Um why would they think that. Arkansas DRILLED K-State in the Cotton Bowl. Mizzou didn't do good last year in the Big 12. K-State even beat Mizzou last season. I don't see where people thought Mizzou or their fans thought they'd go into the SEC and run up a lot of points. Everybody knows the SEC have better defenses. Now add in their QB got hurt in Spring football, their best RB from last season out for the whole year, etc. Nobody expect Mizzou to run up some points.

ETA: I'm in Missouri, there was nothing but respect shown towards SEC schools. Back in June even the local radio announcer here in Joplin said Mizzou will have it rough the first few years until they get certain players in, that Mizzou will have to make upgrades to the Stadium, etc. I believe he was down in Arkansas for the past 3yrs so he traveled to other SEC venues.

I loved it at the time, still do. He isn't the reason we've had trouble this season. Nothing wrong with confidence going into the season. He's shut his mouth since, I didn't have a problem with it then, and I don't see it as a problem in hindsight.

The problem against UGA and all season has been the o-line, not SR's mouth.

You are a dick.

But to answer OP, Richardson made a stupid comment, regardless who it was addressing, but it got blown out of proportion.

This season isn't being helped by having a decimated o-line and our stud RB injured before the season even started, then having Franklin get injured and having to start a RS Freshman QB for most of the season. This year's team would have sucked in the Big 12 too, no team can completely overcome missing starting QB, RB, and three out of five on the o-line for almost the entire season.

My observations have been about as expected. SEC plays good defense. It is just too bad MU isn't anywhere near where it has been offensively. So far, the SEC defenses have played MU as well as FCS, PAC and conference USA defenses.

Bama was straight up impressive. More so than any OU or Texas team we ever saw in the big12. Not quite to the level the Nebraska teams were in the 90s, but very darn close.

As for SEC offenses, they don't look like I expected. SEC teams haven't really ran the ball well vs Mizzou and have had to resort to Big12 style of play throwing it everywhere. Bama has been the only one who could line up and run it over the Mizzou D.

Overall, it is about as expected it is just MU is worse than we have been in about 8 or 9 years.

Very true. Hell WVU is ranked and getting drilled by the good teams in the Big 12. I'm sure Mizzou would have the same fate this season in the Big 12.

ETA: Like I said in another thread, no team will do good when you're playing 2nd-3rd string players against 4-5* full healthy recruits. You'll have a lot of 3 and outs, no time for Defense to rest up.

Didn't one of Mizzou's QB's transfer to Missouri State last Spring. I don't know if he was their 2nd string. But I heard he transferred because he wanted more playing time. I'm an hour from Springfield,MO and remember hearing about that. So if he was Mizzou's 2nd string, hell now you have Mizzou resort to playing a 3rd string QB.
