Is the Alabama-MSU spread this weekend a setup?

I am in Vegas and keep passing by the sports book and staring at the Alabama-Miss State line for the weekend. I cannot pull the trigger either way as the size of the spread bothers me.

The same goes for Notre Dame +10 vs. Oklahoma. Perhaps it is because OU has been flying under the radar this season after the Kansas State loss? OU just has not impressed me and the idea of them giving 10 points to Notre Dame has me scratching my head.

What are you guys thoughts on both games?

State covers easily and OU blows out ND by 3 TD's or more.

Vegas sees a team that is firing on all cylinders and has been for the last several years. They also see a team that is 7-0 based on playing teams like Troy. They want equal money on both sides, so the only way to get that is to have an absurd line...

If the line was something like 14, no one would put money on MSU.

Yeah I wouldn't touch the Bama one. I'd feel good about giving Miss State the points but they could easily win by 30+.

Notre Dame is a legit spread. OU plays extremely well at home and ND hasn't really looked that impressive against solid teams(Mich St, Stanford). I'd take OU on that one.

I wouldn't touch either game, the spreads are too crazy for me to understand. If you must bet while out there, I'd suggest picking a couple of different games.

The MSU-Bama one is insane. Take MSU immediately.

Yeah, I don't know people think Vegas is trying to predict the outcome of the game. Vegas just tries to keep money on both sides of the bet, so they take the juice and minimize their risk of losing.

Wow, CFN has both Notre Dame and Penn State not only beating the spread but winning outright

(edit due to typing willing instead on winning...lol)

PT Barnum's quip about a fool and his money spoke directly to this MSU@UA game. It's always very obvious.

Alabama covers.
Oklahoma covers.

Let me get this right. You say you are in Vegas and the thing to do is post here and even more incredible ask the advice here? Does that cover it? By the way, I am in Paris and low and behold have befriended family member of Jon Gruden
and...

And this stuff is free, priceless you might say.

I never like betting big spreads with SEC teams. If I liked to bet a bunch of games I'd put money on OU. I'm just conservative when it comes to betting.

I thought the MSU-Bama line was going to be -17.5 or so. I the fact that it is -24 makes me assume that Vegas is begging people to bet on Mississippi State. I'd suggest staying away from this one.

With that being said, Go State.
