He says he went as long as he could, but had to hang it up.

I think it's a smart decision.

probably for the best, this season is shot and has already probably hurt his draft status...someone will get a steal in a late round

I hope the Broncos take a look at him in the 4th-5th.

THIS.

I hear he is a great kid, no need to risk further injury with the way the season has gone

I said this earlier, He's the one Auburn player I wish Bama had.

Always been a fan of Lutz, I remember seeing that sick catch back in HS he had.

Things didn't completely go his way from a individual standpoint, whether it was due to an offense that didn't utilize him outside the ten or very poor QB play. He was talented enough to focus an offense around, like a collegiate Gronkowski.

He had great hands, always found ways open, and was a great blocker. Under Malzahn, he'd usually be manning the LT spot in unbalanced line situations. He took on starting DEs 1-on-1 and help his own.

It's not like a QB could ever get him the ball anyway.

Sad his senior season went down the way it did, but he did more than enough during his time here to be called one of my favorite Auburn Tigers.

I have to agree about Lutzenkirchen being a kid I wish Bama had been in on.

I don't think Bama was even on his radar when he came out of high school, but I think he would have been very successful as a TE for Bama.

He was on our radar. We tried to flip him during the tt to cg transition.
