I doubt he'd have a hard time with extra points.

Article says he has no D1 offers.

He kicked off a tee. That's impressive no doubt, but it's a whole different ball game kicking off a tee with a different ball in high school.

Let's not forget Morgan was a top 5 kicker in america out of high school.

Uhh, if you watched the video you would have seen that there was no tee and the reason they had him trying it was because they were down 3 needing this kick for OT. Instead of leaving schollys on the table lets at least bring this kid in to compete with Marshall.

Hella kick... I don't care if he kicked it off the top of a 5 gal. bucket. Props to the kid, he set a National record (Opps 1 yd short)...

Accept my apologies, my bad. I thought in another video I saw he kicked off a tee.

No prob, yeah I have seen kickers nail 70 yarders off a tee in warm-ups but this kick was pretty impressive outdoors and if we have open scholarships that we aren't going to fill and can get him- why not do it? That is the weakness of the current administration, Bama and other schools have upped the stakes by pushing the boundaries as far as they can and we have failed to keep up. I myself am conflicted between the "let's do it the right way" view and the "win at any cost/ it aint cheating if you don't get caught/ no mercy" viewpoints. Football is only a diversion from life.

To be honest with you, spending a scholarship on a kicker is lame. We used schollys on morgan and barber, who were both top 2 or 3 at their position in the country in high school.

Meanwhile, Bennett and Coutu were both walkons. Andy Bailey was a scholly. Kilgo might've been a walkon too.

My point is, we can find an ex soccer playing field goal kicker to kick FGs for us and save a scholly for a frickin defensive player.

I would agree if we would max out our 34 number, which I doubt we will after we lose out on some of the 5 star studs we are still desperately trying to get.

85 scholies minus two equal 83 scholies ain't no way in hell that two scholies for kickers makes a difference in the 3 deep depth chart. Just saying.

Giving a kicker, especially a good one, a scholly is not a waste at all! You are investing in someone that can help you win those close games!

But considering we are down to just 70 scholarship players I guess there's no reason not waste a couple more on kickers.

I can't wrap my head around this. How the frick can a coach miss that many scholly slots? With CMR putting his house on the market and then being that short on scholly's, it's like he figured he was out.

Man the frick up Richt. It's time to actually become passionate about your job.

And like I pointed out, Billy Bennett and Brandon Coutu were walk ons. Andy Bailey was a scholarship.

You can find competent kickers without giving out scholarships. Especially losing 10ish starters on defense next year, we should be giving out scholarships to people other than kickers.

WG, I would agree if, as stated earlier we were maxed out on scholly's for other key talent at positions we needed more help in, like we frickin should be. But if we have extras laying around then frick it, bring the kid in and give him a shot. I have 3 kids and only one with a shot at a full scolarship anywhere. And if not here then use them some damn where. Don't keep em in your frickin pocket.

Let's see you have 11 starters on offense and 11 starters on defense that is 22 multiply that by 3 and you get 66 even with just 70 players on scholie you still have enough scholies for the kickers just saying. and we still had 8 scholies that we didn't give out last year when we gave the 2 kickers scholies so should not be a big deal.
