What kind of meltdown will the Au fans have?

I personally think he should be given another year Min. (no troll either). Yes, this year sucks for Au, but he had a lot of things working against him and the Au team this year. Two new Coordinators and an QB who's just not very good. PLUS the most important fact is what is happening on the other side of the State. Don't think for a second that does not have an effect on Au's thought process, which is what's going to keep setting them back.

Au has recruited well under Chiz but have had way too many bust but that could be just bad luck. They have a pretty strong group already committed and firing him would cause a huge scattering of those recruits. Two years removed from the BCSNC, you don't fire the guy who lead the School to it's first in 50 years. If Au is smart they will give him at leat next year to get the ship righted and headed back up. Plus, there are not many if any "great" proven hires available or IMO that would bolt their current gig to go to Au after firing Chizick 2 years removed from a NC. In two years Chiz will have Au competing for the west, can Au be patient enough to allow him to get them there again.

Depends on who the new OC is and if we can keep BVG around.

If there are no changes, I will be providing some serious entertainment for yall

I agree but the pressure will increase if he loses to Vandy and if the GA and ALA games are not competitive. It could have so much momentum that no one will step in front of it.

He was our third choice and has proven to be in over his head. I dont see how you can lose every SEC game and keep your employment.

How many coordinators can you fire before the HC has to walk the plank?

Goes down by ~$200k a month. Not based on years.

It's well known that if you win a NC you get a minimum of 5 more yrs no matter what. Pat and I think Gene will be fine.

Cheaper to fire him than to keep him next season. 3.5 salary plus 5 million buyout.

Im with you, I cant believe the thread about new coach being lined up at mid season. How in the hell do you fire a coaach 2 years removed from a MNC, 3 bowl games in a row , possible 4th if they get some wins. Hell not even us folks at LSU would do this. Im sorry just cant b elieve the thread talking about Fisher, petrino etc. unless things really get worse.

By him being the first coach in Auburn history to lose 9 games in one season. Winless in the SEC is unacceptable.

We aint winning any SEC games.

Screw that, I want Butch Davis.

Plus how much worse coudl they get. We just broke Ole Miss' 16 game SEC losing streak. We now own the longest losing streak in the SEC. And we are an 8 point dog to freakin Vandy.

I don't disagree with you but the with all the factors I don't see how he can stay. Right now we are 1-6 with the only win in sight is Alabama A&M and that might actually be a better game than it should be. Couple that with the fact that we have had A LOT of off the field problems that haven't been rectified the past couple years and the way the whole team is right now and it just isn't a hard decision.

The buyout is simply guaranteed money for him. It is about $200k a month guaranteed no matter where he works. If he goes back and takes a DC job for 50k a month, Auburn will pay him the other 150k.

I think the only thing that has Chizik's head not on a pike is the recruiting class that is committed. If a couple of those guys go, I think Chizik will for sure be gone too.
