LSU and Florida are about the same as those others also. We are a lot better than any key else in the SEC and the county for that matter. If we lose it will be because we beat ourselves.

I'm not betting any money on a win at Bama. I think we will be very competitive. I hope I am wrong, but I don't think we are quite ready to dethrone the king. Here's to a great game in two weeks!

I think it will be a good game which it has been in recent years, but I think Alabama holds the advantage in this one.

Sadly, I completely agree with this.

BigAppleTiger

Disagrees..

As a matter of fact BigAppleTiger is the only one in this entire thread that has a "gut feeling" about Bama losing, "Imagine that"!

Bama is the luckiest team in CFB. They get all the calls and all the breaks. It's not fair.

Tennessee had 8 drives of 5 or fewer plays, one of the scores came from special teams. Talk your shite about State after you beat UT this weekend and hold them to fewer yards than we did. Get the fricking homer out of your system and watch the games, Jesus Christ you are hands down the worst Bama poster on this board. Actually, hell you could be the only horrible Bama poster I like most of them.

Oh I'm a horrible poster because I'm stating the obvious.I gave you three solid reasons as to why I think Miss State defense is not very good and your only rebuttal is how many plays TN had in 8 tries. I do not care. You cannot call yourself a good defense if you give up over 200 yards on the ground. You cannot call yourself a good defense if you are allowing Troy to get close to 600 yards of offense or South Alabama close to 350.

I can promise that you guys would be all over it if Alabama's defense was giving up those type of numbers playing young players or not.

I do not have to wait till Alabama plays TN to talk about Miss States bad defense. I have seen Alabama defense play well. I have seen them play a full game without their two best defensive players in Milliner and Jessie Williams and still leave Western Kentucky pointless with under 250 yards. You know Western Kentucky, the little team that held Troy to less yards than Miss State.

Sometimes it better to be lucky than good. When you are both; it's deadly!

And I'm willing to take my medicine should it be a blowout. I will heartily earn the ridicule and I am willing to take it.

It's just my gut feeling, but I don't see this one being close. Bama is more physical on the lines

It's coming, but Tennessee is first up for Alabama. We'll worry about State a week from now.

At least we won't have to listen to all those damn cowbells this year..

MSU is a good team this year. They will play a good, physical game, but they don't have the same level of quality depth to hang with us for four quarters. Bama wins 27-10 with a late TD to make the spread bigger than the game will actually be for most of the game.

When did they change the rules to base wins and losses on this?

Well known that we play a bend-don't-break brand of defense. We don't try to dominate you. We just don't allow you to beat us in one or two plays. We make teams sustain drives, and with every additional play comes an increased likelihood in them making mistakes. Then we make you pay. Give me scoring defense and turnover margin, and the rest of it really doesn't amount to much.

Ah yes. The old bend but don't break defense. Dude please there is not a defensive coach in country on any level that believe in that philosophy. That is something that sports analyst use to call a bad defense that's had a string of good luck when opposing offenses get in the red zone.

So please tell me which one is it regarding your defense almost allowing 600 yards against Troy and 350 to South Alabama. Did you play a lot of young players like another Miss State fan posted or do you guys just let people run over you in hope of them making a mistake.

They didn't, but the discussion was regarding if Miss State has a good defense and not wins and losses. Learn to keep up.

Why are you asking? You clearly don't want the truth... but are just making up your own version to troll with.

We played 61 players against Troy and 64 against South Alabama. We have 81 players on scholarship right now. 16 of those players are redshirting, 1 was suspended(PJ Jones), and one held out for precaution/injury(Tobias Smith). So, we had 63 total scholarship players available. You tell me if we played alot of young players, even including at least one walk on.
LINK

This is the reality of our "bend-don't-break" in numbers, since you call it a myth. Included are all games under current DC Chris Wilson. Explain why, over 19 games now, our scoring D is so much better than everything else? Ah yes, turnover margin, aka the "luck"... well, we were +0 in that regard in all 13 games last year. What gives?

2011
Scoring D - 16th
Pass D - 27th
Rush D - 61st
Total D - 35th

2012 to date
Scoring D - 16th
Pass D - 23rd
Rush D - 50th
Total D - 25th
Turnover Margin - 2nd
