THey are off to a great start. 3 very good players on board.

I am very curious to see how the 2012-13 class will feel about the 2013-14 class coming in. I have said it several times, but it bears repeating that the 2012-13 class is nowhere near the standard of Cal's other classes. Poythress is great, and Noel will go pro based on his high Rivals/Scout rating (which I will never understand), but the rest of their guys are just not very good.

Guys like Goodwin and Harrow will be back next year and struggling to get minutes, especially if UK adds Randle and another player like Wiggins or Meeks.

I would take them against the field for the next two years to win it all

Seriously, it takes more than a starting lineup full of 5 star freshmen to win it all. Last year's team had chemistry to go along with their talent..I remember people predicting the John Wall team to go undefeated

Last years team also had some very good fortune that Syracuse who was essentially UK's more experienced contemporary the whole year lost arguable there most valuable player.

Indiana is rightfully the favorites to win in 2013(I have cooled a bit on UM) anyone who says otherwise doesn't know what they are talking about.

For the 2014 season if Duke, Florida, Stanford or especially Michigan State land Parker they would be my way too early pick.

But its college basketball the favorite probable has a less than 25% chance of winning.

The beauty of the '12-13 class is that it has kids that will be around for 2-4 years and will provide the depth and experience the classes of '13-14 and '14-15 will need to compete for titles. Cal isn't dumb. Sure he wants to win every year, knowing him he believes he can win enough this year to put a scare into people in the tourney, but he understands just how important the veterans on last year's team were to winning that title. The vets were the unsung heroes of that team. He's basically building the next 2-3 national title run attempts around the 12-13 class even though he'll recruit over them as it pertains to the starting lineup. He's building around the role players.

Goodwin will be a lottery pick and possibly our leading scorer next year, he won't be back to play with these guys. He's already been declared the team leader by some of the other guys. Cauley-Stein is the only one of the Freshmen that might come back and that's only because he's still raw.

If we were paying players we'd be broke by now.

Enjoy your titles. Until they're vacated.

He had Terrance Jones for one reason. The NBA lockout. Same reason why Perry Jones, Harrison Barnes, and Jared Sullinger came back. Darius Miller was the final BCG holdover unless you are counting Jon Hood. It really wasn't some clever strategy or "understanding intangibles" or whatever. It was fortunate circumstances, which he used wisely to his advantage.

Ryan Harrow is not going to be that type of veteran leader.

And Archie Goodwin makes Kobe look like Steve Nash. He passes 2-3 times a game. One of the most selfish players i have ever seen. He may set an NCAA record for nights going 6-17 from the field.
