With is Georgia problems well documented and now a part of the Auburn season, is he going to be banging down the door of his alma mater to go coach DBs in the Big 12 where the performance indicators are did their offense look like a 7 on 7 drill? If so, you just put forward a quality big 12 defense.
Alternatively, have Auburn fans noticed something redeeming about what he has done with your DBs that perhaps the casual observer is unaware of?

Our DBs are much improved. They actually look for the ball now.

This would make more sense if our problems were on defense.

Wait lemme get this straight. You don't think you have problems on defense?

The defense is well balanced. They give up about 1100 in the air and about 950 on the ground.

you got some retard in you...there's obviously been improvement from last year.

Not to be ugly, but statistically you are only better because there are 2 additional teams in yards given up.
ETA: In terms of nominal rankings, you are actually one lower in yards given up at this point in the season than you were last year.

I only care about scoring defense.

Where exactly has this improvement been seen!? Was it the 500+ yards you gave up to Clemson? Giving up like 4 td to an Arkansas team that came in averaging 5 pts a game in sec play? Having msu and lamo move it up and down the field the whole game? Oh right, you shut down an LSU offense that's one of the worst in the country so I guess that's improvement. Sad really.

Your scoring defense sucks too. Better so far this year because LSU is a steaming pile of garbage in offense. If that outlier performance is removed you are about 3 points better a game this year. Included, so far you are about 6 points better this year. So improved, yes, but still can't stop teams from moving the ball.

Where did I say the defense is worse than the offense? Obviously the offense is worse, but the defense is absolutely terrible as well.

Up to this point last year, Auburn gave up 30 points 4 different times. This year, 0.

Yet the defense has still made improvements when compared to last year. Unless you didn't watch our games last year...

that's where you're a fool. Auburn gave up over 34 points in 3 of their first 5 games last year.
the most Auburn has given up this year is 28 in a game.
this number will drastically improve this week if Auburn doesn't give up 38 points like they did in their 6th game last year.

I realize that all of chizik's defenses have been terrible. That doesn't mean this year's is not. It's really really bad.

I'm not sure why AU posters can't just answer the question. The facts are kind of stark. AU has given up 8 passing TDs has 1 interception. They give up the second most completions per game in the conference while Auburn is not disproportionately passed up (8th in attempts). They have a premier perimeter rusher and several good defensive lineman. Is it not the DBs?
Martinez clearly was hired as a nod to BVG. I'm not really sure what he has done that makes him an asset to a defense other than BVG likes him.

This has got to be he saddest moral victory I've ever seen. "Not quite as bad as last year!"
Still fricking awful with no signs of turning it around.
