Was he consistent in the SEC? Looks like he will get a starting opportunity this weekend in NFL due to injury.

Not a State fan, but I just wanna say I always liked him in college and I thought he would be one of the better rookie RBs this season.

Extremely hard worker is the only way to describe him, good kid and he is coming off my bench to start in fantasy this week.

I don't remember his 40 time at the combine, but wasn't it like 4.49? Good blend of speed and power imo.

He's not the fastest. He's not the biggest. He's a hard worker. He's a really smart, fundamental player. He was pushing Brown for the starting spot as a rookie out of training camp. That should tell you something. He has great vision and instinct. Thanks for starting this thread. I have no decent backup rb's. I just picked him up.

Are you trying to say he's Wes Welker??

Ballard was that quick burst. Great, not good, GREAT vision. Has the weight to hold up, and always falls forward.

Even with the horrible OL at MSU last year, he still got great numbers.

Incorrect sir.

He ran a 4.63 on his second attempt. First attempt was the crash into the tripod. Pro day he ran a 4.56.

What he lacks in speed he makes up in work ethic.

Sorry I couldn't resist. In all seriousness, I've always liked Vick Ballard. A darn strong grinder.

He has deceptive speed, the kind that doesn't show up on a 40 time. If he ever hits the open field, he is gone. Seems he just gets faster and faster over distance. Quite the opposite of Perkins our RB now, who is incredibly quick on the short burst, but tops out quickly, and has been caught from behind a few times in past couple years because of it...
