Lot's of misunderstanding about the "Gamecock " name. It is not about any part of the anatomy of the bird, but the whole. During the Revoluntary War there was a SC Patriot General, Thomas Sumter that fought the British to a stand still. The English commander likend him to a "Fighting Gamecock" that would " fight to the death ". For a century or so that's what we did, but now we are most often " fighting to the win ". Thought our friends ought to know.

You're new; I would recommend introducing yourself at the O-T Lounge first. Just so everyone can get to know you.

Thanks, but we know about gamecocks.

We have also seen lightning, grass, people jumping, and ice cream cones. So, you can spare us those explanations.

Nothing to do with the name choice, everything to do with the marketing. Have to question any dad that let's his daughter go there under those circumstances.

Not at all, very reasonable. You would put one of those shirts on your daughter? Answer seriously.

My daughter is 2 years old, so no. Nothing but Block C logos and "Carolina" for her. But when she's going to college? I would hope she would realize that there is an actual animal called a "Gamecock" and be mature about it.

Plus it's not like "Crimson Tide" sounds much better.
