@JHokanson

#Auburn WR Sammie Coates being real. Said the team needs better leadership. Basically saying there's too much talking, not enough doing.

?@JHokanson

Coates: "to win, we have to let the anger out. We have to look past the four losses and move forward if we want to win."

@JHokanson

Interesting that a redshirt freshman appears to be the most fired up person we've talked to in two weeks.

@JHokanson

Coates also said he wants to see one of the quarterbacks step up and lead, said the leadership has to come from people in main roles.

?@wareagleextra

Sammie Coates on #Auburn QBs: "They talk, but they don't talk or explain things enough."

@JHokanson

Coates on leadership: "They (coaches) put it on the older guys, but they aren't showing much.

@wareagleextra

Coates says older guys are talking, but not showing it on the field every time. Wants young guys to start stepping up. He's aggravated.

@JHokanson

#Auburn WR Travante Stallworth said their issues are more execution than effort. Stallworth doesn't see players not giving good effort.

@JoelAEricksonAU

Chizik says the QB race will not be a game-time decision. Like the rest of the team, it depends on Tue-Wed practice.

@JoelAEricksonAU

Chizik says Quan Bray will play this week.

@wareagleextra

Chizik on Coates' tirade today: "You ask a young man a question, he's going to give you an honest answer. I've got no issue with that."

AKA he did not control the message, he will not see the field for weeks.

Didn't sound like a tirade to me. Sounded like the truth.

?@wareagleextra

Chizik adds Prosch is a "powerful runner" and should see the ball more.

@wareagleextra

Chizik on FB Jay Prosch: "Very good player/leader. Got a lot of respect from everybody on this team." Adds he needs to be on the field more.

@AUBlog

Chizik on FB Jay Prosch: "Him being on the field is something that we've got to do more of."

@AUBlog

Without giving details, Chizik said part of re-establish running game identity could involve giving some backs fewer carries and some more.

**sounds like less Omac to me**

@JHokanson

Chizik on working with offense: "I'm not saying wholesale changes -- I think we might have been doing a little too much."

Well, Chizik. You are the head coach. Make it happen.

So no more sweep for a 4 yard loss and run up the middle for no gain?

I really like Omac but he sucks in this O and it is not his fault. I hope his speed allows him to make it to the next level.

There are ways to work him in. He's a potential TD every time he touches the ball. He needs at least (5) touches per game.

His last question to Chiz should have been: "Why dont you let the young guys loose? Try Cass and Frost for a few series and see if they make plays. Obviously knowing the playbook isn't working for Jake. "

OMac is a guy who should get about 10-12 carries, catch 4-5 passes, and return kicks & punts...

I would love to see a toss sweep to the far side for once. That play just might work. Get all of the OL moving in that direction with him. Like the Texans do with thier run game.

Speaking of which, think we could hire Texans OL coach John Benton as our OC?

I agree. He's one of my favorite guys in the past few years, but I cringe when I see him take a handoff between the tackles. He needs to catch 4-5 balls out of the backfield and maybe take a few sweeps a game, but for the love of all that's holy, not to the short side of the field.

In other words, Jay won't be playing much at all this week.

Agree, they can put Mason & Omac back there together and that would keep the D honest. Or put him back there with Prosch and give him touches, so the D respects the middle. I think Prosch could be a running weapon too.

Bingo!

Coates can now give up ever seeing the field again.

huh oh

@JHokanson

#Auburn LB Jake Holland: "We have leaders on this team, I disagree with Sammie (Coates) on that."

@JHokanson

Holland: "I agree that something has to change, we have to start winning. I disagree that we don't have leadership."

Hokanson said he should have the Coates video up soon.
