Through six games this season Ole Miss has been more competitive than the last 24 games during Nutt's tenure. Last Saturday he made a young coaches mistake in not being under center when going for it on 4th. Other than that I would be willing to say his offensive play calling has been damn near flawless.

He's no Ed O, but he'll probably work out.

Not great imo.

Good, but I reserve great for hires like Saban and Meyer.

I would say it sure looks that way so far. You guys are greatly improved and seem to be heading in the right direction.

Good point. But Ole Miss can't exactly go out and get a proven guy like that. We have to go for young up and coming coaches right now.
State did it with Mullen and I think we did it with Freeze.

Good hire as long as he doesn't make a bunch of dumbass calls like he did sat.

if you take 'great' as a relative term.

it was a great hire, obviously Freeze isn't going to run off a 2-3 title run.

he has certainly made ole miss a much, much more solid team than they have been in several years..and that is huge considering what has come out of oxford recently.

He has Ole Miss playing decent ball. Texas aside, there hasn't been the traditional herp derping of recent years going on out on the field. The Rebels have simply lost to teams that are clearly better than them.

Freeze is a good one. It'll be interesting to see how well he can recruit.

Ole Miss is no longer getting blown out. Now they are playing good football. But the object is to win. Ask this question in a year or two if these good games become wins.

OM needed a guy like Freeze...Young, firey and a pretty good recruiter.

Not a big fan of the style, but winning games is more important

He cost you guys the game, but at least he was trying

As long as he doesn't consistently make dumbass calls and get conservative on leads......like Ed O, then he will do just fine.

No doubt. nutt would have been under center in that situation but he woulda handed it to enrique Davis 5 yards deep for -10 yard loss. Fwiw sumlin was a good hire as well

i honestly think that game vs Ole Miss in athens has trap written all over it and i could see Freezus out coaching the richtard easily. seriously though. i've gotten a lot of my friends pissed at me saying that lately but honestly i could just plain see it happening.

I agree. Sumlin and Freeze are actually pretty good friends. I think A&M and Ole Miss will have the best offenses in the West for a few years.
