And I am serious, did I miss something?

1. He leaves us as an OC to take a head coaching job. Upgrade.

2. He leaves there to take an NFL head coaching job. Upgrade.

3. He leaves that to take a big SEC head coach job. Side move since he wasn't a good NFL head coach. He left in an awful way.

4. He is fired from Arkansas for reason outside of football. And I still think the only reason he was fired was due to hiring the girl into the AD.

so what did I miss that makes Auburn hate him so much that "he would NEVER coach at Auburn"? Did he leave in some bad way?

He's a classless POS. You left out details to how he left the Falcons, the exact reason why he was fired from Arkansas, and Jetgate too.

He shits the bed in big football games (see BCS bowl w/ Arky) and won't consistently win big because he has never had a team with a defense worth a shite.

That too. Frankly, I don't know why anyone would want to hire him with the wreckage he seems to leave behind at every place he has worked.

Because they see the offenses he has produced and suddenly think he's the man for the job.

I'm not well versed in Petrino's departure from UL. I wouldn't be surprised.

As for the Petrino question, maybe its because he seems like a bad person. I do not have a problem with him. He wins games and screws hoes, that my kind of guy.

Same here. I want to say he left a wake in his departure at that school too, but I could be wrong. Oh well.

I don't want him anywhere near Auburn.

not flaming but did he reach out to get boosters to come talk to him? I remember Lowder and company going up to Louisville to get a feel of whether he would come to Auburn. Why does he take the blame on this?

And yes, from a morality stand point he isn't a good person but most winning football coaches aren't.

He was constantly looking for a new job to go to. He left the Jags to come here, a year later he's at UofL.

At UofL, he was linked to the Raiders job, the LSU job, the Auburn job, and left for the Falcons job 6 months after signing a 10 year contract.

He had the clause in his contract at Arkansas that said he could not interview/leave for any other SEC West schools. That shows that Arkansas didn't fully trust him when he was hired in regards to job skipping.

I'd always be worried he's fricking anything that moves and constantly looking for the next place to call plays at.

I have no idea who reached out to whom first.

Ever heard the phrase "guilty by association"? Classic example here.

Correct.

Winning? Where did he win at?
He went 3–10 with the Falcons, and his overall (college) HC wins is 75–26. He won two conference titles with Louisville. That's it. Arky never went to Hotlanta with him, and the one BCS bowl game they made, they lost. To fricking Ohio State.

Fair enough. I just never understood why we (Auburn) hate him so much.

Almost 75% isn't winning?

I thought I remembered there being some scandal around his departure from UofL.

Oh really? I didn't know that.

That included UofL.

At Arkansas, he was 34–17, overall. Conference was 17–15. So no, IMO, he is not a "winning" HC.

That was his first contract. After some searching, it appears his 2nd contract with Arky had a no-compete clause for the entire SEC.
