Just take a look at their schedule. According to Sagarin ratings, their SOS is one of the weakest in all of cfb.

they're 4-0 against these cupcakes :notimpressed:
Jackson State (1-3)
Auburn (1-3)
Troy (3-2)
South Alabama (1-4)

prediction: UT 35 State 17

Undefeated against an easy schedule is better than 2 losses.

"better" is a pretty subjective term but it sure doesn't give an accurate representation of who will win, or justification as to why.

MSU has not been tested. UT, however, has been tested, and failed those tests.

Best 1 2 punch at DB in the nation, I think we'll be alright.

ETA: I think I saw a stat that said Bray has a completion percentage somewhere around 30% when blitzed at. U gon get raped

I think the strengths of each team will be tested.

UT's O is pretty good but MSU's D is supposed to be good. We don't really know about MSU's D because they haven't played anyone yet. I'm pretty sure UT's O is legit 68% of the game.

MSU's O is not a powerhouse but again, we don't know. UT's D needs a lot of work.

I think UT wins.

While I don't agree with the subtext of the OP, UT impressed me Saturday. I have seen some MSU this year as well. I think it will be an entertaining game through out, but I think UT pulls one out here.

ETA-Not to mention, UT has an extra week to prepare and scheme MSU.

UGA is ranked #5 and had a hostile home enviroment. UGA and their athletes/talent is on a different level than MSU. but UT played toe to toe with them and had a couple of chances to put the game away at the end.

UT struggled early defensively, but held UGA to 0 1st down in 4th quarter and forced 4 straight 3 and outs in the 4th. UT wins if we play better D against MSU.

They can score points on bad defenses.

We haven't seen them play a good defense yet.

They've played one good defense.

How many has MSU faced?

I guess you intend on Tennessee finding a defense between now and next Saturday.
