I can dig Steve S. he was in my initial top 3. I like him a lot. washington was god awful when he took over. they still have massive, massive holes on that roster. he recruits like a mad man.

It doesn't surprise me that they would make a claim along those lines.

what would you guys think about andy reid? '

i could see this happening. perfect storm. he's one train ahead of the boot in philly. he's a coach that took them to a super bowl. he coached vick, mcnabb, they were very good for a very long time.

though considering his kids i don't know how he would be with the whole spline thing

Updated with today early results and took out Dave Doeren as it looks like he is very close to being hired by NCST.

SOB. We can still get him in 5-7 years.

Updated with all results, regular season is now over. I'm very confident the next coach will be one of these listed in the OP.

Btw, Gus Malzahn and Arkansas St beat MTSU 45-0 in the Sunbelt Title game.

I should add Ron Cooper and Brent Venables to the list for GoHogs1091.

Actually, I don't have Clint Conque on my list. Here is my list. I don't have a Top 5 list, my list is a Top 3 list.

1. Butch Davis
2. Brent Venables
3. Ron Cooper

Is anyone else going to get extremely shitfaced if it's not Patterson or Petersen and ends up being a "meh" hire?

Probably every Arkansas fan everywhere? Calling in the next day bad?

I vote yes, that will be me. I will call in soon after and go get as close to death without dying as I can.

My dad is the ultimate negahog. He thinks we're morons for thinking we can get a good coach. He's not crazy about getting a coach who's peaked already and paying $4MM+ to get him.

He thinks a coordinator is what we should be after. I won't even discuss it with him. Literally won't even let him attempt to say the name Kirby Smart or whoever he thinks might be good. I won't even allow myself to imagine that we'd get a never before HC. Peepaw laid down the decree that our coaches have to have HC experience decades ago. The BOT would never allow a Todd Monken or Tim Beck type hire.
