Did Alabama fans jump ship when they beat UT 12-10 in 2009?

I know LSU has some of the worst fans in the world. A visit to the Tiger Rant is evidence of that. Some will never accept Les Miles and can't wait to see a lackluster performance so that they can bash him and the rest of the coaching staff.
Did Alabama fans panic and want to slit their wrists when they had to block a field goal at home to preserve a 12-10 win over UT on their way to an undefeated season?

UT had a solid team in 2009, especially the defense.
2012 Auburn, not so much. I can see why LSU fans are panicking.

I think wrist slitting is part of the entrance exam to purple/gold fandom.

IIRC they were pretty happy to come out with a W.
Our fans (on this site) suck.
But there's alot of us due to this originating as an LSU site.
I'm sure some tidefan posters went full retard.

Most people (not just LSU fans) can never seem to really grasp the fact that teams play up and down. You don't get their best game 100% of the time.
But we keep drawing conclusions and making comparisons anyway, because it's what we do.
The LSU/auburn game showed us that LSU is not invincible...but anyone who thought they were was just being ridiculous (same as those who think Bama is invincible, or USC was, etc.)

Didn't Ole Miss beat y'all 42-17 that year?

TN was a better team and many fans put unrealistic expectations on a new qb regardless of his talent level. Mett is going to struggle his first yr in sec play plus y'all now have a new secondary thanks to TM7. LSU is fine but the fla and sc games I figured we're a given just don't seem as easy as I had once thought.

Also, there was numerous fluky events which caused the score to be that close such as the Ingram fumble deep inside their own territory and the onside kick. Bama had complete control of that game until the last two or three minutes when all hell broke loose.

I was ecstatic. That was probably the most happy I've ever been immediately after the game. Took about ten years off of my life though. I would be happy to get a W if I was an LSU fan. People forget that AU has a lot of talent, and JHS is not cake walk of a stadium to play in.

Ole Miss also beat #10 LSU in the following week. they had a good team.

Tenn outgained Bama FWIW

LSU fans cut themselves when they feel blue.

You said UT had a good D. 42 points to Ole Miss contradicts that.

I may be wrong - but I think we breathed a collective sigh of relief to have made it past that to an off week. The team was pretty beaten up

Unfortunatley, this is very true for many in the LSU fanbase.
I'm not incredibly worried, the same people were having panic attacks last year when LSU beat Miss. St. 19-6.

What about 2003 LSU losing to a freshman QB and mediocre UF team 19-7, with the only points being a punt return.
AT HOME.....

No, they all just jumped into Mt. Cody's belly.
