Demetruce McNeal:

"Even though we didn't come out with a win, we know now what we're capable of," junior safety Demetruce McNeal said. "If that's the No. 2 team in the country, what are we then, no matter what our record is?"

Dude, LSU had more rushing yards alone than your entire offense.

Sounds reasonable enough. AU is taking a moral victory from hanging with LSU. About all you've got when you're 1-2, but I know if I was an Aubuen fan I'd feel better about the rest of the season... Well a little better at least knowing they didn't get curb stomped as expected.

Let's see, last year when LSU won in Ttown, what did they say. Notice he did NOT say we were the better team.

So the Auburn football player was upset that they lost, but was happy they played well against the #2 team in the nation. What's your point?

Maybe not, but the difference between #2 and #3 is the difference between having a shot at the NC and merely playing in a very well respected consolation game.
