The kid has a huge payday coming in the near future. I would personally kick John L's arse if he tried to start my son in that situation.

If he is medically cleared then I would let him play. I trust doctors.

I think it would be stupid to play, if I was Tyler wilson, but Arky doesn't have a chance without him. Problem is they don't have a good chance with him either.

Depend upon lingering effects and what the docs say.

They have already said they won't play him until the doctors say it is okay for him to play. So, it's on the doctors, not the coaches.

I'd certainly insist on an outside medical opinion. if he was cleared by both and wanted to play, he's a big boy.

Kiehl Frazier's dad allowed him to play, and got punched out for it.

I'd hate to see the kid be used up and damaged goods before he got to make it big in the NFL.
If he was still groggy yesterday, I can't imagine them clearing him for Sat. But if that was my kid, I would be worried.

Any coach, doctor or trainer who played a kid without 100% assurance in a head injury situation would be committing career suicide in today's environment of "player safety".

This isn't some podunk junior college. National attention will be on this and anyone who thinks the staff will take a chance with the kid's health is crazy.

The real Question is, have you ever had a concussion? I had a minor one in H.S. and my head hurt for a week. I couldn't sit in class and think without my head hurting. If he had to sit out the second half then my thoughts are he has a severe concussion and he will probably be out for 2-3 weeks.

This seems like a really targeted question. Are you sure his parents even post here?

The best thing for Arkansas is to sit him and have him ready for the rest of this season. They will not be able to protect him against Bama.

I feel bad for the kid but he needs to take a step back. Concussions, especially repeat concussions are a very dangerous thing. Once you start getting it becomes easier and easier to get more.

It's not like Arkie's OL is going to get better. Wilson is going to get hit and hit a lot this year. Bama and LSU have multiple guys that can destroy the QB. Miss State's defense is no joke. South Carolina has a freak of a pass rusher in Clowney. A&M got 8 sacks on UF's QB last Saturday.

I would also say that he needs to realize that NFL money is in real jeopardy now. NFL teams don't like to invest early round cash in guys that are a hit away from being out of football. The NFL is only getting more stringent on concussions and its a big risk to take for a kid that has been beat up a lot before he steps into an NFL training camp.

Tough decisions ahead for Wilson. Personally I would hope he takes at least a week or even better 2 off after his symptoms are gone so that he is somewhat healed. Your brain doesn't heal the same way as other parts of your body and you really don't want to mess with it. Hate to see Tyler Wilson look like Mohammed Ali later in life.

It's about the next 60 years of his life. All schools have to formulate a concussion plan with specific protocols and submit it to the NCAA. Since a concussion has 22 recognized symptoms, he has to be TOTALLY free of them all....certified in writing by a specialist before he's cleared to play.

The medical community has learned more about concusssions in the past 5 years than it did in the previous 100. He'll sit out as long as it takes for him to heal.
