Defense is showing small improvement. Considering the amount of turnovers we had they played decent. Still have horrible tackling and play with too much cushion, but overall better.

That being said, this offense is rivaling 98 and 2008 as the worst I've seen since I starting watching us play in 82. Unless we get major changes and improvement at QB we'll be extremely lucky to win more than 5 games.

7-13 drives ended in 4 plays or less.

ETA: and no points. Doesn't count the 3 play scoring drive at the end.

I was actually pretty pleased with the defense. It still has a little ways to go but we were aligned right most of the game and our guys actually made some plays. Some bad tackling but no atrocities like last game.

The offense put the defense in some bad positions and added to a lot of the yardage numbers.

We had like 3 sacks, but couldnt finish the tackle and that 5 missed tackles on that TD , but other than that I was very happy with the D.

It's true man, but I can't believe that these players are so under developed at this point

It's really disappointing. No way around it.

Maybe it's the inconsistency with the identity of the program? Players playing for coaches who didn't recruit them. We need to stick with something but I'm not sure Gene is the guy to stick with. I need a new sport to watch.

I didn't say they were good coaches. Just that they were good recruiters.

The D showed some strides of improvement this week. Just wish the offense could hold their own so we could really see how much the D is worth.

This defense would improve dramatically with Holland playing at a DIV II school somewhere. We have zero presence in the middle of the field. He constantly let the center square him up and blow him out of the way. He is too small, he is slow and doesn't need to be starting on defense for anyone in the SEC.

Average starting field position.

MSU: MSU 38
AU: AU 25

Auburn lost the field position battle because of the inability for the offense to pick up 1st downs.

BVG will continue to improve this team. Next year could be very good. But we must win 6 games or we will never find out.
