Why in the hell do we not try to let Frazier gain a little confidence with these types of passes?

Malzahn never ran a slant and it seems Loeffler doesn't either. Clempson killed with those quick underneath passes. It seems like we never call these.

Frazier can't hit Lutz in the flat when he's wide open, and you want to throw slants across the middle?

And another one to Bray. This is how the game should have started to open up the deep ball.

Dude, they are playing prevent defense. Of course underneath throws are going to be open.

I understand this, but why they didn't start out with giving Frazier these passes, I don't understand.

You help him get some confidence against a good secondary with quick slants and quick outs. There were maybe one or two of those in the first half. Of course he only threw the ball a handful of times in the first half, but you pick away at the defense and run the ball, which will help open the deep ball.
