Thanks to all of you Aggies, and others, that offered help earlier in the year when I asked about College Station info.
One more thing. Should we go to the yell practice Friday night? What can we expect? How long does it last?
Any other pertinent info will be appreciated.
EDIT:
Is it OK to walk around on gameday with adult beverages in solo cups?

Yes, you should go. It lasts about half an hour. Florida will be made fun of, but it's all in good fun and in no way serious. You'll have a good time. Then go to NG and get hammered.

I'd be curious to know if visitors routinely attend Aggie yell practices. And what percentage of them were masochists.

Go to midnight yell.
Yes you can walk around drinking during tailgating and such.

If you're asking about drinking the answers you want are don't go to Yell and yes you can walk around tailgating and drink from whatever you like. Glass, aluminum, and plastic are all fine.
Yell Practice is fine to go to once because it's unique and impressive. But it's not fun enough for me to leave the bar

If you don't care about your fans and school being made fun of then go. Go out Friday night to Northgate regardless and get hammered. Wake up early and take in all the tailgating

Yup, I've never had a problem as long as you're on campus

Pretty much this. If I were you I wouldn't waste valuable Friday night bar time. But it's up to you.

Agree that Yell is cool to see a few times but it takes up too much drinking time. I only went a few times as a student.

I usually make one a year, and try for it to be the first. Other than that it is a beating, but if you've never been, definitely go. You can expect the first two decks to be super serious and crowded, and if you aren't old, aim for third deck, sure the walk is longer, but you can spread out and enjoy the experience. I sat next to a Montana State guy one year, and him and his wife thoroughly enjoyed it.
It lasts 40-50 minutes, and when the lights go out you're supposed to kiss your date. If you are worried about beating the crowd that might be a good time to dart out.
If you're planning on drinking at the bars after, just follow the crowd. The bars close at 2 in Texas, if you didn't know, so you get about an hour or so more of drinking.
You can walk around with any alcoholic beverage. On game days it is a wet campus.

Its interesting to see. Its basically a unique pep rally. It doesn't last all that long, maybe 20-30 min.

Spend Friday and Saturday night at Northgate. I like to start my night out at barbershots or dry bean with a shot or two. O Bannons & Logans are my 2 favroite spots on NG. Good beer (variety at OB, big beers at Logans)

Yes, its no big deal. Tailgating is spread out. Spence has the best tailgating IMO. Make sure to stop by the MSC, but don't step on the grass or wear a hat inside. Its a memorial for those who have given or will give their lives in wartime so its done out of respect

I would go on parents weekend for the spring game each year

And yeah I agree drinking is usually way more fun.

I usually would go for the big games as a student. I don't bother now though. I never know what to say about it for opposing fans

If you've got your drink on at 11:20 p.m. on Friday night and are having fun, don't bother with Yell Practice.
If you don't, and want to see something different, wander on over, but go straight to The Dry Bean and have some shots afterwards. The Aggie Jokes may piss you off, and you'll want to remove the stank.
Bottom line: Go to Yell unless you have some good game rolling.

See I only went like 3 times as a student, two of those were as a freshman because drinking always trumped it.
Now I try to make it once a year, just to retain some sort of Aggieness. Iunno. We will see how this weekend goes, I'm not necessarily planning on it, as I'll probably go for LSU if my work schedule allows it, and will try to get to that one. Who knows.

Yeah I didn't go very often, maybe like 5 times total. Not a lot of "big" games as a student for me

My group is considering it. I can hear it now. aTm fans rolling out of a whoop, we will start a hog call
