Don't get the LSU fans pulling for Michigan...

Pretty dumb, imo....we play bama and therefore control how they finish the season.....compared to LSU...we don't play Michigan. I just don't see where it helps at all...besides making alabama and the SEC look weaker (which impacts perception of SEC rankings), it opens up the opportunity for Michigan to lose only 1 game, and get selected ahead of a potential 1 loss LSU (don't think they don't love some Michigan...and especially with an Alabama victory). A Michigan win does not help LSU in any way, and in fact, it potentially hurts LSU....I'd rather alabama roll into baton rouge undefeated and ranked #1. JMO

well, I don't know what would be worse....the love fest for Michigan if they won (you would hear it all year about how they have arrived, best..etc...)...or the dick sucking of saban and bama after they likely destroy mich as expected. I honestly think a Michigan win would be worse, and we don't play them so we can't control how they finish the year. If Michigan wins, don't be surprised to see them jump us...serious.

Yes.
But it wasn't this bad. It never got to the point where we said we hated the entire state of Louisiana and hoped they lost every game they ever played.

I could never bring myself to root for a Big 10 team. And certainly not when it would provide ammo for their fans to talk endless shite about how they "beat the best" in the SEC if they beat Alabama and potentially put the Big 10 back in the BCSCG.

This part is correct. The risk is that, since it's the first game and poll changes will be volatile, Michigan could leapfrog ahead of us with a win. Since they don't have any other tough games to play, they'd have a good chance of going undefeated and staying ahead of us. Even if Bama proved to be horribly overrated and lost five games, Michigan would still get the credit for beating a #2 team this week and it would be hard to pass them up later.

This part...NO! frick Alabama. I hope they lose every god-damned game they play, EXCEPT Michigan. I'd be happy to see them "roll" into Baton Rouge with a 1-7 record.

If Bama wins good for the SEC. If Bama loses the black eye they give the SEC will be more than made up for with the meltdown of Bama fans reacting in typical fashion by explaining how "they" lost the game and Michigan just got lucky.

I loathe bama in the most passionate way possible with every fiber of my being, but that doesn't mean I'm going to pull for a BIG 10 team over an SEC team. I was surprised at the amount of LSU fans saying they want Michigan to win in that other thread, left me feeling like my hatred wasn't all that impressive. I want bama undefeated on the morning of 11/3.
