My Bammer wife and I are headed to Dallas next weekend for the Cowboys Classic. I was looking for some things to do for entertainment on Thursday and Friday before the game.

Any suggestion from locals or any LSU fans that went out there last year to play Oregon on bars, restaurants, sightseeing must sees/dos, etc etc. would be helpful. We are staying in the Las Colinas area near DFW arpt. Thanks

I copied this from a previous answer I gave on this topic a few weeks ago. For attractions, 6th floor museum, Dallas World Aquarium, and The Dallas Zoo which has an awesome part called "Giants Of The Savannah".

Dallas Observer

You can pretty much find everything on the above site.

I've been in the bar/nightclub business in Dallas since '94. Here would be my top recommendations at different areas in downtown.

Knox/Henderson area
Food/Drinks: Victor Tangos, Fireside, Hacienda on Henderson, Old Monk, The Porch.

Sports bar - closest thing would be Jakes or The Porch

Lounge/Club: The Dram, Rio Room

Mckinney Ave :
Food/Drinks - Sfuzzi (food is Ok but the scenery is great), Standard Pour, Idle Rich Pub

Sports bar - MAT

Lounge/Club - Avenu, Hotel ZaZa pool(tons of hot chicks here, but def dress up)

Main St area
Food/Drinks - Iron Cactus, Ravenna, Charlie Palmers inside Hotel Joule, Union Park(just opened. Great spot).

Sports Bar - 10, One Eyed Penguin

Lounge/Club - Cameo (thursday nights is a must), Plush, Empire Rock Bar

STRIP CLUB - Baby Doll's. Over 100 girls nightly. Crazy in there....

DO NOT go to lower greenville or Deep Ellum. Not what it used to be and it is a ghost town down there now.

Gilley's is hosting a Bama alumni fundraiser for Ashley Harrison Scholarship. Ashley Harrison is the student that was killed in the Tornado.

Should be fun...

Orchestrate a coup against the US government and blame it on a patsy?

What do you like to do? Uptown is for douchey young professionals. Other than that out in the burbs you can do pretty typical burb stuff. I would recommend going to the Addison area. I grew up in far north Dallas and I feel like Addison was the only place you could really avoid the typical Dallas douche. Piano bar, the improv, or any of those bars around there are all pretty fun.

Oh for fricks sake.

If you can't handle the "Dallas Douche" stay at home and arrange your Red Wing boot collection.

Most of my friends and I toured Dallas Cowboy's stadium prior to the game being played. You get to walk the field, tour the locker rooms, and kick a field goal or two, it's a pretty neat experience and ends up with some pretty good pictures. You can go to the Dallas Cowboy's stadium website and preorder the tour.

Last year for the Oregon game, we went to Stockyards the day before and had a blast.

Go to South Oak Cliff and take the walking tour. If you live it will be a night to remember.

I mean. I've spent lots of money off McKinney Ave. I don't really have a problem with Dallas, as I was born and raised there, and went to school in Plano among the super douche rich children, but a lot of outsiders are really turned off by them. For an LSU fan with a gump wife I thought it might be a fair warning.

Also, Red Wings suck. Luchesse if I'm feeling extra douchey, but mostly a cheap pair of Justin's. There is a Justin outlet in downtown Ft. Worth that has been my go to for a while.
