That certainly doesn't mean that his tenure is as high as we can go.

Kentucky got up to #2 at one point in 2007, that's about the ceiling for your program, I'm sorry.

You have to give a coach at least 3 years. Hell even Zook got that.

That was very generous considering he took UF when it was at an all time high.

Muschamp has taken over UF when it is in a rebuilding stage.

I could actually understand Zook only getting two years.

I never understood to love for Dooley while at La Tech. They were never that good, but they always had a bit of hype around them. Definitely didn't understand why Tennessee hired him. I feel like he's in over his head.

ETA: If Muschamp doesn't cause Florida to implode, you gotta give him another year.

Joker Phillips - Kentucky is gonna be the worst team in SEC history

Says the guy whose coach is rumored to have players throwing games because they're a bunch of headcases.

I don't care for Joker but Dooley sure as shite isn't an improvement in that regard.

Dooley won a bowl game at La Tech for the first time in over 20 years. He also took over a program that only won 3 games the year before.

You are basing this on what?

Dont get me wrong I hope I'm wrong on Dooley I hope he is the greatest coach in Tennessee history. I dont base Dooley as being a bad coach on overall wins and losses but how the team improves. They have steadily gotten worse with him as head coach. I understand we had injuries last year but the way he coached many games (USC, Kentucky) it was embarressing.

You only have one more "claimed national title" than we do.

We almost hired Turner Gill on almost the same kind of logic

A team is going to get worse during the season when you lose your qb and receiver on an already very young team. You should be happy we were even in the USCe game for that long, defense played solid. We had to start 5 true freshmen against USCe.

UK loss was very embarrassing though. I'm not going to judge him off one bad game.

You asked what he has done and I told you. You take a chance with coaches.

Have you seen Brady Hoke's record at Ball State? 34-38

Coaches like Kevin Sumlin, Chris Petersen, and Gary Patterson have taken over mid major teams at an all time high. They all are unproven.

....not really. Patterson is one of the best coaches in the game, and I honestly think Petersen is as well. We'll see about Sumlin, he's unproven, but promising.

Patterson took over a 11-1 TCU team. Dirk Koetter and Dan Hawkins were the ones who built up Boise State. Art Briles built up Houston.

BTW, do you know Houston's record 2 years ago when they lost their starting qb and receiver? It was 5-7 in the CUSA

And they only won 4 games his last year, but I guess the train-wreck that is TN sports you gotta do a little bottom fishing.

He wouldn't be fired this year unless he goes all Petrino on some coed. He's got four years at the least. The is just the beginning of year 2.

Patterson has sustained that program, fielding some of the fiercest defenses in the nation year in and year out while in a MWC that also contained a solid BYU and Utah team. He's also beaten solid OOC teams such as Boise State, Wisconsin, etc.

You aren't going to find many people that don't love that dude as a HC.

Hawkins was a great coach for Boise, sucks that he flamed out at Colorado. Peterson has taken that program to new heights, had them recruit better than they ever have before, and has his team beat more talented teams on the regular.

I'll go ahead and tell you that both of them would be huge upgrades over Dooley. Hell, they'd be upgrades for most teams out there.

Auburn was on upset alert to that team

I actually think Muschamp is going to work out at Florida. They've got to get that offense together, but he'll field some fierce defenses for you with the talent he has at his disposal.

Pease will be VERY interesting to watch to see how he manages that offense. Florida returning to their form hinges on his coaching ability.

Muschamp will lose to stacked FSU

Stacked??? WTF? They are good on D and that's it. They can't even win the ACC.

I'm not concerned about this year because of the whole Charlie Weis failure and hiring of Pease. It's almost like starting fresh for Boom.

I won't be please if we lose to FSU but I certainly won't be mad.

We were broken in more ways than one. Boom is doing a good job turning things in the proper direction.
