I was driving listening to ESPN radio today, and they were talking about how Nick was the one that wanted to pass on Drew Brees there, in favor of culpepper. I am sure the diehards there can't be happy with that given their issues at qb over the past several eyars. On another note, if he had taken Brees he might still be in the NFL and LSU would be the King of fooball all by themselves....

Damn so we would have to sacrifice the Saints Superbowl for probably another LSU national title???? Tough decision

If you've ever heard Tosh.0 refer to Saban you'll understand how Miami Dolphins fans think about him.

Or Bree's would have never connected with Sean P and become a top 2 NFL QB..... He would have been the same QB as one for SD with no running game or anyone to throw it to.

I am a die-hard saints fan...but to me, my passion for LSU is on another level than for the Saints.

I have started very few about bama, and I don't remember starting any about saban. I recognize him as a very good coach.

Perhaps...but I suspect Miami would be a lot better off.

Well they couldn't be any worse now could they? Savan was going to leave NFL eventually he just may have stayed an extra year or two. It isn't like he was a horrible NFL coach, he just did not reach the greatness he had in college.

He is like all other really good coaches, talent makes them appear better than they are. There are a lot of great coaches out there that just never got the chance to go to a place where they could get enough talent to become elite. I am pretty sure that 95% of the coaches in college could do very well with LSU's and Bama's talent...but then getting that talent is part of the equation.

How you been ole' buddy? What is your take on LSU this year? I remember a few years ago you were right there with Nuts predicting doom and gloom. What do you expect this year realistically? My thoughts are that LSU can slip up once and still have a great/championship season...as long as they don't slip up against bama...which I don't think will happen. Florida worries me, and I hope Arky is having a good year when LSU rolls to town. If they have 3-4 losses, LSU might overlook them and you know that is Arky's superbowl.

Huh... I thought Saban wanted Brees but the Miami medical staff wouldn't sign off on his physical, when all along Nick just liked Culpepper more.. who knew?

You could be right and all the analysts on ESPN were wrong today. They distinctly said it was Saban's call....I hadn't really known that before. But hey, you could be right and ESPN wrong...they have certainly been wrong before.

I am the same way, except I wouldn't even consider myself die hard Saints, It's hard for me to be die hard about a professional team.
But that SuperBowl run was amazing, being down in NO for the game was even more amazing. The only down side to it was Mardis Gras the next Weekend pailed in comparison to the epicness that was SuperBowl weekend in NO
