For all you gump fans who say TM7 isnt our best db and how he's overrated. well lets compare his stats to your beloved Dre's:

NFL Scouts don't care about stats.
Also, Dre covered number 1 WRs and was hardly thrown at last season, hurting his overall numbers.

There's no doubt that TM7 is/was the better college player, but I have a feeling Kirkpatrick may end up a better PRO.

Ok.
Mathieu has more tackles because he blitzes off of the edge more than Dre did, and Bama didn't give up as many completions as LSU did. (IIRC)

The numbers are a little skewed. I would venture to say TM7 looks better numbers wise than Peterson or Claiborne. But no one is arguing he is better than either. I'm too lazy to look up the stats though

This. Mathieu is definitely a better football player. He's not a better CB.
