Bo Jackson
Herschel Walker
Peyton Manning
Cam Newton
I'm with doughnut boy on Tebow: Lotsa fluff.

We're falling into the Heisman trap--only naming offensive players with just an occasional defensive player. Defensive players are half the team and affect the game equally with the offensive players
A note: Herschel Walker seems to be on almost everyone's list.

I agree with every name I've seen so far in this thread... wow, thats a first!
Throw Derrick Thomas into the mix.

Best for one year and meant the most in one season: Cam easily
Best overall career: Tebow
Let's bump this thread after AJ McCannon's senior year though.

As far as 1 season players go Nick Fairly had a huge impact pretty much dominated 2010' 28 tackles for loss or something like that.. that's crazy

I really don't see Tebow on this list.
And Archie definitely belongs on it.
Discussion has too many QB's not of Def. players like LeeRoy Jordan, Reggie White, Tracey Rocker, Tommy Casanova...

You're an Alabama fan and you've listed two QBs, but did you ever watch Joe Namath or Snake Stabler? I'm an LSU fan, but my God, Namath and Stabler were stunning to watch. You may be young enough not to have seen them. And McCarron is not nearly as good at comparable stages of their respective careers. Maybe, like you say, he will improve.

Tebow
Hershel
Bo
Faulk-- total homer pick
Cam played 1 year so I dont think he belongs on a best of all time list.

This sentiment is scattered throughout the 2 threads, but if you were picking an alltime-SEC team who would you take over Cam at QB? Tebow was around longer but he was not nearly as explosive IMO.

Which makes it all the more impressive. He was an unstoppable machine.
