I would love to know what his past predictions are. He rants and raves about how wonderful he is for about 1,000 pages and sprinkles in some college football. He picked Florida State and Oklahoma to play in the championship..... he is either an idiot or a troll on a national scale. I just want to know how bad he truly is because I can't find out past predictions anywhere.

So because he didn't pick an SEC team to win it all, he's an idiot?

This board gets more stupid by the day

I read through his magazine and it looks like a joke. It looks like for some conferences he doesn't look at anything and picks a number out of a hat on where to rank teams. I think Lindy's is much better and more accurate than Phill Steele.

He picked FLORIDA STATE to win it all. That alone makes him an idiot.

Didn't feel like going through the lists but your information is there.

They have an incredibly easy schedule

If LSU/Alabama slips up, then loses to one another, it'll likely be Oregon/USC or Oklahoma.

Florida state has SEC talent, without the SEC patch on their jersey. Quit being closed minded

He has the best historical record by far. Doesn't mean he's right this year. Just means his odds of making accurate predictions are better than anyone else.

Phil Steele's magazine is a fricking joke. Here's what I posted last summer after I bought my first Phil Steele mag:

quote:

So I wanted a magazine that I could read up on some good details about every college football team. After flipping through the selection of mag's on the shelf, it seemed like Steele's mag was the most detailed and had the most stats.

So I get home and start reading through his breakdown of all the SEC teams, position by position. At first glance it looks like a lot of nice details, but when you get to reading, it's mostly nothing but a bunch of irrelevant stats and info from year's past.

Here's the first two sentences under Arkansas' offensive line breakdown for 2011: "The Hogs led the SEC in rushing in 5 of Houston Nutt's last six years. The one year they did not ('04) they had 0 returning OL starters and were still #2!..."

IDGAF what happened in 2004! It's 2011, and I want to know about 2011! If I wanted history I'd go to wikipedia!

Another example: I wanted to read up on Bama's QB's for this season and how they were projected to do, and Steele's first 4-5 sentences under that section are about frikin John Parker Wilson and McElroy in '08 and '09.

WTF PHIL!? The cover of your magazine says "College Football Preview."

What a fraud and waste of almost ten bucks. Yeah, I'm mad.

Stassen also has final AP results here, for comparison.

Steele can be the most accurate predictor and still be the creator of the most shitty, useless preview magazine.

Not much of this on LSU and Alabama's level, certainly not the depth.

So because he got Arkansas preview wrong, he's a shitty columnist

He probably gets ULM, ULL, Southern miss and others predictions wrong too..

See a trend? It's that your school isnt important enough to spend more than the time he does

Cool, he doesn't have Florida state playing LSU/Alabama , does he?

So as long as the SEC beats up on itself, that floridia state pick is safe

FSU's schedule sets up nice for a run, but I don't think they've got the QB to get them to the BCSNCG. Couple that with being in the ACC and the national perception of that conference...they would not get serious consideration if there was a choice for the NC from the SEC, the Big XII, or the Big Ten.
