Ok Bama Fans.....who claims the 1964 Championship

I hear arkansas fans claiming it, but I see three names when I look, and most websites don't have arky listed. Who actually won the ap, upi?

bama won both,, they voted before the bowls... bowls were just a reward for the season...

The NCAA website has Arkansas listed.
BTW, We will rescind our claim on '64 if LSU rescinds their claim to 2003. AP is all that matters, right?

The AP and UPI Trophies are in the Bryant Museum in Tuscaloosa.
Funny how everyone says Bama shouldn't claim non AP/UPI trophies but then the Hog fans don't acknowledge it in 1964.

Oh, so that is why you can't find arkansas listed on most of the major sites. I guess they found some publication that named them national champion, and ran with it...lol....but hey, wouldn't you? That is it for them. So basically, alabama was also undefeated when the national champion was crowned....I see.

Actually the BCS was in 2003, you know, the format all the coaches agreed to in settling the true national champion. Nice try though.

To be fair, it was the FWAA that awarded the title. It's not like they're claiming a Sagarin national championship.

I didn't think the NCAA recognizes championships in football.
