I didn't expect big things from Cuonzo, but he has turned out to be a beast on the recruiting trail.

Don't right Coach Ray off just yet. Besides, the West seems pretty open as far as basketball is concerned.

agree with this, he hasn't proven to be a recruiting expert yet, but it will be pretty evident by the end of the spring signing period.

Pearl had Stokes in the bag, Cuonzo just had to show him that we're still Tennessee.

Cuonzo is not as flashy as Pearl, but is extremely persistent. He has been in DC, Philly, Miami, and Milwaukee in the last week watching every one of Nichols and Hubbs games.

Rumor that Hubbs committed today, but will not make it official until Coach K returns from London.

Up to him now, huh?

I hope so, but I live here in Dyer County my friend. I'm friends with the people "WHO KNOW". This kid is "SO GOOD" they are already discussing "ONE AND DONE". I hope UT lands Hubbs, But I'm telling you Coach K has spent a lot of time on this kid. Coach K has lots of pull when it comes to college basketball.

Anything new with the Hale rumor? Greg never texted back and Chiild asked about it on BOL but they whacked the thread.

Snippet from Rob Lewis, the main basketball recruiting writer on VolQuest
quote:

I have heard some buzz that Hale may be looking at opening things up. Will definitely try to dig into it some more this week. I would not think that anything that happens with him would affect Tennessee's pursuit of Nichols.

Also said Nichols is the clear #1 as far as frontcourt options go and this wouldn't change that. Numbers still not clear as far who they are looking at for the last spot or two, but Hale is an option as he understands.

Lewis on our favorite 5 star SG R. Hubbs

I don't think it's a stretch to say that Tennessee has put themselves in position as the school to beat. But I would be surprised if he popped to the Vols without taking any official visits.

Vols are in a very good position to land Nichols and Williams. To be honest Memphis has not really pushed for them with King being their top target and they will get him. Landing both of them would be a big coup. UT is not at the level where they can beat UM for their top local priority. But they can handle them on their secondary choice. It is very possible that a West Tennessee class of Hubs, Nichols, and Williams could be Vols next year.

A take only if the Vols miss on Nichols.

Committed to Florida today. Good news for the Vols as that all but officially eliminates UF in the Nichols pursuit.
