Michigan took a CB yesterday. Pretty much puts them out of it for McQuay.

Hope so seems like Michigan and their proximity to Motown was a huge draw for L3. Kid is an extremely talented musician as well and wants to major in that area. Vandy's Blair School is one of the top music schools in the country along with the industry in the city VU fans are starting to feel better and better about our chances every day. L3 will be an EE if he chooses Vandy I think he may end up starting as a true Fr. huge talent.

Apparently '15 RB/DB Donovan Sheffield committed to Vandy today, suppose to be a elite prospect come that cycle.

Yeah not sure how I feel about the Sheffield commit. He is supposed to have been one of TE best freshmen players in TN last year and his dad played at VU but still seems odd to me. Love the 2014 kid Robertson he is going to be a huge recruit like top 250 in that class:

Darius Mosely committed today to Illinois so can scratch him from that initial list. If there is a spot we can miss a guy at though it's CB. Signed 3 pretty good ones last year, one of them Torren McGaster is going to be one of those guys you wonder how he didn't end up at a traditional power, and have Ferguson and Sims committed as well.

Right in the thick of things for Jalen Ramsey going to be intereting to see how his USC visit goes next week.

Vandy received a commit today from WDE Landon Stokes he was a huge target for our coaching staff, possibly the no.1 DE target on the coaches board. Tomorrow VU will likely receive another commitment from a top WR target.

Apparently that was contingent upon him working out for the USCe staff and he did not workout on his visit to Cola...which I assume means Vandy if he wants to commit soon.

USCe now seems to think they'll land Taj Williams. I'm still a tad bit upset we turned him down. I know we have to leave a spot for North and I wouldn't trade any of our WR's for Taj right now, but the kid is talented and I'd hate to see him in Columbia. They need quality WR's.

I can't welcome you to the board because i am relatively new, but:

My question - is Johnathon McCrary still solid? I know when he committed he made a big deal about only going to a school that was recruiting one QB. I haven't heard anything from him since Vandy got their second QB commit.

McCrary is as solid as a commit can be the coaches talked to JM about taking a 2nd QB in this class about 2 months after he committed. We need 4 QBs on the roster in CJFs opinion and JM decided he was fine with that. McCrary has actually been the biggest recruiter for this years class has been all over some GA kids and has struck up a friendship with Jalen Ramsey (they roomed together at the 5 Star Challenge). Honestly barring something disastrous he will be at VU next fall - he also has family in Nashville so that helps.

The WR is going to be Dominic Walker 5.7 3* #52 WR and a 4* and top 300 player on ESPN.

Dear Vandy,

Please don't allow yourselves to continue to be the crowning jewel on Derek Doolander's resume'. Beat UTk this year.

Sincerely,

A Concerned Fan

Dominic Walker did in fact commit tonight to Vandy bringing the total class to 15 prospects (4 WRs) at this point. Walker is the no. 52 WR on Rivals a 5.7 3* prospect and a 4* top 300 player on ESPN which now has 6 of our commits rated at 4*.

Not sure who would be next but VU will likely heavily target DL and DB with their remaing spots (8-9) with a lot of big time guys still in play.

July looking like it could be almost as good of a month has June was for VU. This staff and CJF are simply incredible recruiters reminds me a lot of Tim Corbin's early years as HC

New 2014 commit KJ Carta Samuels QB from Cali younger bro of backup QB Austyn Carta Samuels. Has recieved heavy praise this summer from Rivals west coast analyst Adam Gorney expected to be a 4* possible R250 prospect. Along with JaShon Robertson, huge DT commit from Nashville guaranteed 4* talent 2014 is off to an amazing start.

4* RB Jordan Wilkins decides between Auburn and Vandy today at 10. His brother goes to Vandy. Some people are thinking Vandy has a legit shot at him.

If Auburn signs a guy like Green or Bryant Wilkins will flip to Vandy. He will be at multiple VU games with his parents this year and Mom and Dad want VU and the brothers together but will let Jordan decide in the end. Franklin & co will continue to recruit JE all the way til the end. This is no slight toward Auburn at all but it's a long way til Feb.
