ESPN (and others) always refer to 36 as the start of the modern era (I guess because of the introduction of the AP poll).

Definitely needs to start @ a post-integration date to be considered "modern era". The 50s and 60s should definitely be excluded, IMO...

Scholarship limits and the end of single platoon football seem like a better starting point, as well as the elimination of freshman teams, schools being integrated, and a time frame that makes Aggie football look the most favorable(winning record against tu since 1975).

You make a great point... but I'm not gonna go back and re-do it all. You can do it.

I've seen the mark of the modern era determined by things such as the use of full facemasks (1951) and the coaches poll, which was 1950.

I'm in full support of Bella's statement here... she's smart.

Well seeing that the last ten years half of the Heisman Trophy winners have been black, I would say the first point in time that we reached that level. So 1975.

I'm a n00b b/c I would have bet good money that Georgia had a better record

FIFY.

But you're a self-proclaimed n00b, so...

You will learn that UGA has underachieved on a massive scale, historically.

Gotta be a closet Ole Miss fan. Only they include that in the modern era since it's their "glory days".

And exactly when would be the "Glory Days" for Mississippi State? That year they won the Independence Bowl?

More preseason national titles than any other program though.

Naw. I don't even believe in the label "Big Six" anyway. No team can truly be judged until they have to play the Aggies year in and year out. The last time LSU tried, they were sick of losing and took their ball and went home. From this day forward, LSU and the other 5 members of your imaginary club, don't have the option of avoiding us.

Kinda surprised that UGA played 2 more games against Bama than Auburn against LSU.
